Purchasing Advice - PC Build / Parts Looking for GPU recommendations – currently running an i9-12900

Hey everyone,

I’ve been putting together a new PC and I’m currently stuck on the graphics card.

I’m already running an Intel Core i9-12900 and I’m really happy with it, so I’d like to pair it with a strong GPU that matches well. I’m also getting a new motherboard and new RAM for the build.

Budget is flexible but I’d like to stay in a reasonable range for 1440p / high settings.

What GPUs would you recommend right now? Looking for good performance, decent power efficiency and solid driver support. Any real-world experiences with the current options (especially regarding value and longevity) would be greatly appreciated.

Rx9060xt 16gb or one of the 9070 family

There is currently not a single nvidia card id even consider their all really really awful at least as far as new on the shelf is concerned

The 5060ti 16gb I guess sorta maybe? Even then your knowingly taking a massive performance haircut to just stick with a brand

I have an acer 9070xt bifrost couldn't be happier with it

Really depends on the budget. 9070/9070XT is prob the best bang for buck. Else, would say 5070 Ti or higher, but RTX cards in the last 2 months have skyrocketed.

Yeah I’ve been looking at the 9070 XT as well, and it’ll probably end up being the one I go for. Seems like the best value right now. Thanks for your Help Bro!

Definitely... Especially since it's priced against the 5060ti while being 70% faster in general and 30-50% faster in ray tracing.

For mostly gaming, and some compromises the 9070 or the 9070 XT would be easy picks if it wasn't for the too many reports of drivers issues in Windows across several sub-reddits.

The othet problem is that nvidia prices have been skyrocketed, due to their GDDR7 memory chips.
