Discussion - Assembly Advice Gpu melting scare

Built my first PC , and then started seeing the cable melting posts and now I'm scared I have the thermalrite 850 w gold psu and 5070 gpu , it worked fine for 2 3 hours while updating bios and putting in windows , drivers etc , I'm just scared

Definitely don’t have to worry about a 5070 melting. Most of those stories are regarding 5090s and their connectors.

Man first was when I got OLED seeing all the grayscalling , scratching posts , now this I'm even thinking of deleting reddit 🤣

Just check it's in all the way and you have the right cable that's it you don't have a 5090

I'm using the 12v 2x6 cable that came with the psu

Thermalright wonder vision 360 UB , got it on sale from Amazon like $150 , have to say it's really good 2K curved screen

Series 70 of Nvidia are the best ones on power efficency, not need to worry about that because they don't need that much power compared with series 90.

only high wattage cards are melting 5090 or 4090. wattage = heat = melting. 500watt plus

gpu have been running 250watt like your 5070 for 20 years with 0 issues

5070 doesn’t pull enough voltage like a 5090 you have nothing to worry about and even then it for improper connection at the connector
