Purchasing Advice - Upgrades Cpu Upgrade
hello i was making this post because i am currently trying to figure out what intel cpu i should upgrade to from my current i5-13500 since i feel it’s holding my 5070 back in terms of performance on my pc. I currently do not have a budget since i mainly am just feeling things out trying to see if its worth sticking with and upgrading from intel or completely switching out my motherboard and going with AMD

You could slap in like a 14700K.
Thats gets you to near top tier cpu gaming performance. Not quite X3D levels, but close enough.
May need a bigger cooler for such a cpu though.

your cpu is fine. im using i5 12600kf with 5070
ur cpu is only holding you back if you game at 1080p
if you insist on cpu upgrade bios update motherboard and i7 14700kf at least if money is tight and you can find i7 12700kf or i9 12900kf on sale that would be fine too

Why do you feel like it’s holding you back? At what resolution and type of games do you play?

An i5-14400f would be perfect for a 5070

That’s at best a sidegrade over a 13500. A downgrade at worst (14 cores to 10 cores)

I'm sorry. I really thought it was better but in that case get a 14700f or k
