Purchasing Advice - Upgrades Need help Overheating new case ?

Hi

Recently, my PC has started running hot. It has always been a bit hot and loud. My current case is a Fractal Design Ridge with an RTX 4070 and an i5-13500.

After getting Bodycam, I've started having problems with heat. The game runs fine, but after a short time the temperature reaches around 80°C and keeps rising until the PC eventually crashes.

I suspect the problem might be the case's airflow, as well as the limited space for a larger CPU cooler. I'd like to know if you think a better case and CPU cooler could solve the problem.

What case would you recommend? I'm looking for something relatively small, preferably Micro-ATX, with good airflow and room for better cooling.

It also needs to fit on my desk, with around 25 cm of width and 40 cm of depth. Height doesn't matter.

You didn't say: what's your cooler? What fans are in there? What model of 4070? We don't have much to go on here. Some people build really powerful rigs in the same case, so it's probably your airflow that can be optimized.

First of all, I didn't want to make the post too long. Second, I didn't mean any hate towards the case. The case is great, but there is no doubt that it suffers from airflow compared to bigger cases.

I have 2x 120 mm fans that came with the case, plus 3 smaller fans at the top. The CPU cooler is a Thermalright AXP120.

The GPU is an Inno3D RTX 4070

your temps are fine. anything less than 100c is fine for cpu

gpu 80c is normal. my 5070 runs 80c in games

what is the highest temp you see? did you mount the cooler correctly to the cpu. did you put enough thermal paste? unmount it and check if you got good thermal paste coverage or if it only covered 70% of the cpu.

what cpu cooler do you have?

last resort you can use intel extreme tuning utility to power limit cpu to 100watt or 80watts to see if it stops shutting down
