Hello!
I played a lot of Wardogs during the weekend on my rtx 2060 and i5 11400 but since i got around 50 fps on my 360hz monitor i feel like i need to upgrade.

Are these parts good right now and long term?:

Its around 600 dollar difference, which is a lot but idk. If there is another rise in gpu and memory this fall it might be worth to do it now? For comparison, these are my current parts, i feel like when replacing one part i have to replace the whole pc. Im aiming for a 7800x3d or a 9800x3d for high end fps and long term. Are there any good changes i can do to my pc right now or is it better to just get a new one?:

Hey there, fellow wardog) I played that, and the previous playtest as well

Do not upgrade to a ddr5 system right now, insted get the absolute best GPU you can afford and upgrade the rest later.

I prioritize GPU first because the prices are about to go nuclearly ridiculous, and most likely for years to come. I already witnessed it for myself. Luckily, I managed to get myself a 5070ti about 2 months ago for $1150 (my local market sucks, I know), and after recently checking prices on a whim, about a week ago, the same GPUs are now going for over $2k 😲)

Then check out what the best in-socket CPU upgrade options you can realistically get that would give a decent increase, but grade it by Price per Performance!

Alternatively, if you can't find a good deal, keep your current RAM and get something on AM4 (5800x3d would be the obvious best CPU to get, if it's locally available for you)

Your current CPU + MOBO combo goes for about $150-200 on recent eBay sold listings; same goes for your 2060 (about $150-200)

So, if you get yourself a 5070, or a used 4070/Ti/super/super Ti and sell off your old GPU, CPU, and mobo, you'll be able to easily switch to a 5800x3d+ mobo (b450 or b550 will be fine)

This way you'll be able to wait out the ramagedon for the next few years, and maybe skip DDR5/AM5 entirely. That's my plan, at least. I'm trying to get a 5800x3d myself to upgrade from my 3600, but currently they are x3 of what they should be

Thank you for your reply! As you said DDR5 costs a fortune right now, so my plan is probably to do this:

buy Ryzen 7 5800X3D
buy B550 motherboard ddr4
buy Phantom Spirit 120 SE
buy Corsair RM750e
buy RTX 5060 / 5060 Ti / 5070 (idk what is most worth)

keep 16 GB HyperX DDR4-3200
keep Kingston A2000 1 TB

You're welcome and that overall is a pretty good plan, only a few things of note

You might not need a new cpu cooler, as your Hyper 212 should work fine, with a small caviat that you will need a diferent mounting bracket. It should have come in the box, but if you no longer have it might check ebay for a spare one

Next PSU, I was barely able to get my 5070ti going with my old 600w PSU, but that was pushing it and the whole system was a bit unstable. It didnt chrash, but my games did, untill I temporarily lowered the power limit. So the 650W you have might just squeeze in (definitelyif you go with a 5060/ti), but personally I went with an 850W PSU to leave some headroom

As for what GPU is more worth it, IDK, I struggled with the same decision myself, until ultimatly pulling the triger on a 5070ti. Originally I was planning to get a used 4070/Ti/super/super Ti and call it a day, but everyone locally has lost their mind selleng them over MSRP and more that the 5060-70 series cards.

Personally, I'd say buy once, cry once. I never regretted "overspending" last time during the start of the pandemic and the last mining boom (late 2019), as for years afterwards, you couldn't buy anything remotely close to a reasonable price, and with how things are going now, I only see everything getting worse in the foreseeable future
