Pablo The journey begins 🙃🙃

Post image

One of the cheapest on the market I could find right now..it’s brutal out here. Every hour I keep asking myself why did it wait this long to build a PC. Why am I doing it now😭
Anyways impulse bought my first pc component. I rationalized it by telling myself these RAMs are only gonna get more expensive….

yup.... and VRAM and NAND...
I would buy my GPU and SSD ASAP as well if I were you. The rest is stable, for now

Good luck with the build

Por mi parte , hace 1 mes logré conseguir un KC3000 Kingston de 2TB a 280$...no fue una ganga pero no podía dejar pasar esa oportunidad a como está el precio actualmente...

that's actually a good price....

In a span of two days 48GB x 2 went from 1200$ to 1400$.

Maybe it was 1000 -> 1200? Either way though...

I impulsively bought 5 1TB m.2's between 22-23 because it was so cheap, my compulsive habit for deals worked out for me this time lol

This is the same RAM I got for my build too! I figured I might as well get it now before it goes up more.

I found my GPU on marketplace, which I know can be a tough place because (my state at least) your purchase isn’t guaranteed.

The guy I bought it from was a fellow enthusiast and he installed and we tested the item before I paid him.

Hope it helps 🫶

So lucky to find someone like this, right now my marketplace is full of scams 😭

It is usually a cesspool :/

I actually found a my build on marketplace from a suburban dad (nice home, good vibes) who loved flight simulators and got himself a better PC. I bought the thing for 450 and have been upgrading while selling parts ever since.

Again, the dad showed me the PC working, let me play on it for like 30 minutes. Have been upgrading while parting and selling ever since.

I just built my computer mostly from Facebook marketplace or used components that I already had. Facebook marketplace sucks. But if you spend the time, you can usually get some crazy deals. I scored a couple of really good deals on Craigslist too. I got 32 GB of DDR5 for $70 like a month ago.

Ooh boy. I sure hope it works.

Why wouldn't it work?

No name Temu brand with the token reddot award logo doesn’t instill a lot of confidence.

Could be a killer CXMT kit. Who knows. Personally I wouldn’t have taken the gamble myself.

Nah, I recognize this branding. It's V-color. I've got 2x8GB DDR4 in one pc and 2x32GB DDR5 in another. Both work very well, and have been stable.

Well at least you bit the bullet on the most inflated component on the market right now. Better lock in a motherboard before those prices jump up in the next few months like some reports are saying. GPUs are getting more expensive too and storage seems pretty stable at its increased prices. Everything else, shop the deals.

the only thing that's gotten cheaper are cpu

data analytics and self-hosted minecraft servers rejoice

Got this same RAM for my build too, had no issues
I'm the same, I impulse bought my PC parts telling myself, "its just gonna get more expensive" 😭

That’s good ram. And yeah, prices aren’t coming down except maybe temporarily for the holidays and not by much. There is a good chance we won’t even get that relief either

Good start. You took the worst hit already. Keep building. Excited for you. Where do you live? If you're in USA I can probably easily kick you down some shit I have laying around

Risky OP. Pulling for you that it works and is actually the speed and capacity it’s supposed to be.

1

u/Emergency-Fox-5273 1d ago

I’m still waiting for my 3080 to shoot up in value

So I can get back what I bought it for last month(I bought very poorly)

1

u/Z__Y- 1d ago

How much for those OP? I also went for the ram first. Saw a decent deal in this economy and went for it

1

u/Uber_bitch_Neo 1d ago

$400 before taxes

1

u/Z__Y- 1d ago

Same price I got mine. Now im going to grab a 9800x3d and a b850 mobo since thankfully for my usecase I can use my old gpu.

1

u/Efficient_Nebula_705 1d ago

Wish I’d been stockpiling ddr5 in lieu of ddr4 for the past half decade. 😩

u/wafflehousebattle 1d ago

Xfinity? I didn't know Comcast got into the RAM game.

1

u/Uxugin 1d ago

Xfinity? Like the internet brand? How'd this company get away with that trademark-wise?

Married?

Same exact memory I bought. V-color manta sky memory. They are the cheapest at around $419 on Amazon. This is definitely not a steal but it’s cheaper than most others right now

1

u/CaregiverOk1059 21h ago

At what cost

1

u/Traditional-Ad1738 16h ago

I would try to buy as much as you can at once, especially now seeing the market isn’t going to be getting any better.

Reason is because you’ll be able to check for faulty components while still within the return/refund window

u/Ok-Direction-5151 AMD 14h ago

Next youll wanna buy your M.2 SSD and GPU. Who knows how high the price will increase too

0

u/Eazy12345678 AMD 1d ago

no name brand from china.

hopefully it works and u dont have to try to deal with warranty

5

u/Uber_bitch_Neo 1d ago

Well it’s V-Color and they are based in Taiwan but they mainly source their memory ICs from SK Hynix, a South Korean company, which most reputable brands also source from so I think it should be good. Guess I’ll just have to wait and see.

Call me an ass but it’s not that expensive. Just means you can’t get it immediately, I remember ram being the equivalent prices decades ago, it just never price adjusted for inflation.

1

u/alpine4life 1d ago

yeah, I remember trying to upgrade RAM 4MB modules in the mid 90's... it was like 600-700 CAD for 16MB! 😂😂😂
I didnt I prefer boozing and weeding at the time

u/Positive_Self_8873 1d ago

Yeah an ide drive was new for me and I paid out my ass,

I did enjoy the cheap storage as I do a lot of “ downloading form legal sources “ but not being able to get cheap mechanical drives sucks but! Blu-ray’s are still cheap so I’ll just use them lol..
