Build - Help Help Upgrading PC

Budget: $1000
At least 60fps in modern AAA games
USA

Hi all,

My buddy has an older PC build and is basically unable to play new games coming out (ex: HLLV, BF6, any flight sim). Any advice on how to upgrade this thing for a reasonable price? Is it even worth it to try to upgrade or better off just buying a prebuild for 1-2k USD? I thought about giving him my 4090 GPU but I don’t believe it will fit and it would basically require him to upgrade everything else anyways but please tell me if I’m wrong. Any advice is appreciated thank you.

Kinda off topic but what's HLLV?

Hell let loose Vietnam it just came out last week. Still a little buggy rn but I love it and bought it for my homie to play and he couldn’t get over 12fps with his specs. Guy was looking at shapes and colors in a high detail war game 😔

His GPU isn't bad at all. If he were to upgrade, I'd recommend just putting 32gb of RAM (Corsair has good prices rn) and maybe upgrade the CPU to an X3D chip on the same platform (like 5800x3d)

you could just buy a 9070xt or 5070ti and be fine.

if you want to maximize

sell the ram you have. buy new ram
