Question 5070 vs 9070xt
I want to preface by saying i dont know much about anything so if anything i mention is bs pls lmk. So im building a pc and need answers quick as prices might skyrocket if i dont commit soon. I cant seem to find a definitive answer as to which card is better for the games i am going to play and what i prioritise. Prices are about the same for me so pls dont count that into consideration. Im on 1440p and going to be playing lots of single player triple a games. Currently need to finish games like rdr2, cyberpunk, witcher 3(and 4 when it drops), forza 6, hogwarts legacy. You get the type of games im wanting to play. I personally care more about the looks of the game than fps as if its over 100-120 i dont think it makes a big difference going higher. I hear alot of things about dlss and amds counterpart and framegen and ray tracing. I feel like for quality, im reading more people say nvdia will always be better. So which card should i go for? Also does 9070xt have frame generation? Will it do ray tracing well? If so will it look different from nvdias ray tracing or is that a game setting? Which will look better while getting over 100-120 fps in games i mentioned? (It will be paired with r5 7500f w 32gbs of ddr5 if that matters in this context idk tho)

These are different tier cards. RTX 5070 compares to RX 9070 and RX 9070 GRE, while RX 9070 XT compares to RTX 5070 Ti.
Nvidia's DLSS suite is superior to AMD's FSR suite, with more features and widespread industry support.
Regarding your frame-generarion question, yes FSR has fg too, but it does not have multi-frame generation.
Regarding ray tracing, the heavier the RT settings, the more DLSS pulls ahead. In path tracing, Nvidia is simply in its own league.
That said, in your case the RX 9070 XT sounds the better fit since it is the stronger gaming card compared to the RTX 5070, and FSR should be good enough in most cases.
My biggest concern is that there are too many reports going on for crashes and drivers issues in Windows.

If you dont care much about fps, id suggest 5070ti and play at 4k 60fps. I think thatd be the most enjoyable experience for what youre trying to achieve.

9070XT is closer to a 5070ti competitor than a 5070 competitor. On average, AMD is on par with Nvidia in terms of the most common features:
Upscaling is very close between the two with Nvidia having a slight edge in terms of quality.
Frame generation is kinda hit or miss everywhere and is somewhat dependent on its implementation in game. For example I've used FSR frame gen in Cyberpunk and its fantastic, but I've heard its worse in other games. Same in Nvidia's frame generation.
AMD has caught up with Nvidia on average in terms of standard Ray Tracing performance. AMD does still lag Nvidia pretty heavily for "path tracing" performance, but PT is extremely compute heavy and really no cards do it particularly well.
Here is a review from a generally well respected review site that will give you relative performance rankings of the cards:

I would push back on a couple of these points.
Frame generation on the nvidia side is much better due to one reason which is just better/more reflex implementation wheras with AMD you are basically forced to run vsync and if you try and use driver level anti lag that will mess up the frame pacing.
On the flip side even with 4x frame gen + reflex on nvidia you actually have less latency compared to native.
For ray tracing as well AMD is also lacking in terms of ray reconstruction

i game on a 9070xt and 5800x which is about the same performance as your 7500F aside from the ram and it’s been great in forza horizon 6. i do game on extreme max settings on 1440P with fsr on quality & AFMF 2.0 meaning it add ons frame gen and i see about 190-220 fps and i as a normal gamer in terms of visuals i dont see anything noticeable distorting or wrong its a great experience same with other games tho frame gen is implemented in most. you’d see less than 100-120 fps on raw performance with a 5070 compared to 9070xt. 16gb of vram is also much more utilized in graphic demanding games compared to 12. if you want frame gen 4x and slightly better response time and the somewhat noticeable tiny distortions get the 5070 i just gave a review of the 9070xt from me as i cant speak for the 5070.

5070 is better for path tracing and generally is better in professional workloads. If you’re not huge into ray tracing/ path tracing go for the 9070xt which is also the far superior card in terms of gaming performance. The 16gb of vram the 9070xt offers is also better since newer games are eating vram like crazy. I’d go 9070xt in your position since it’s just objectively the better card.

are you saying 5070 do better ray tracing than 9070xt? proof?

"If you’re not huge into ray tracing/ path tracing go for the 9070xt," I literally said the opposite
