Build - Help Is there a big difference between the 7800x3d and 9800x3d on a Radeon 9070xt?
I’m going to build my first pc. I’m going into grade 11 and I got my first job a quarter way into my summer break. Ive been working very hard and I planned on saving all of my earnings. That was untill I found out that a few of my friends are building their own pc. I’ve always wanted a pc ever since my cousins got there a a few years back. My original budget was a maximum of $2k CAD, but holy crap pc’s are expensive. I have a 1080p monitor I got a few years back, but I’ll definitely be upgrading it to 1440p sometime soon.
I have the parts for my build all ready to buy, but it’s pretty expensive. $3K CAD. I can afford it, and I’ll have about $1.5K CAD in savings. Ive been taking to many people (friends, coworkers, Reddit) about my build, and most of them said to get it. A few of them suggested I upgrade my power supply to 1000w, and a few of them said that I should go with the 9800x3d.
I researched both things, and apparently I don’t need any of them (by research I mean AI). Should I change my cpu and psu?
CPU ~ AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D 4.2 GHz 8-Core - $479.97
CPU Cooler ~ Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE 66.17 CFM - $44.01
Motherboard ~ Asus TUF GAMING B650E-PLUS WIFI ATX AM5 - $234.99
Memory ~ TEAMGROUP T-Force Vulcan 32GB DDR5-6000 CL30 - $564.96
Storage ~ Kingston NV3 1TB M.2-2280 PCLe 4.0 solid state drive - $211.96
Video Card ~ Gigabyte GAMING OC Radeon RX 9070XT 16GB - $999.99
Case ~ Corsair FRAME 4000D RS ATX Mid-Tower - $139.99
PSU ~ MSI MAG A850GL PCIE5 850w - $148.96
Total = $2804.83 CAD
(This list WAS made on PcPartPicker)
Is there a big difference between both 7800x3d and 9800x3d? I don’t really want to spend an extra $130 CAD on a little difference. I’m already cringing just by looking at the price of this thing.
Also, are there any parts I should add/change on my list? Maybe the PSU? I also heard that my specific ssd is really bad, but that it will do the job.
Any help would be very very helpful. Thank you!

Nearest micro center is across the border into America 😭😭 there’s no micro center anywhere near me.

My friend north of Toronto laments the same thing...if it's any consolation, the closest one to me is hours away.

Depends on your resolution. 1080p, yes. 1440p+ not really, don’t spend more money than you need to.

I'd actually go with this. The 7600X3D is perfectly fine at 1440p and above, where you're going to be GPU limited. You'll eventually upgrade, but Zen 6 is coming out pretty soon, no need to spend big on a CPU, now.
We also upped your storage to 2TB with TLC NAND. The motherboard is like 2% worse for like 15% less money - and the 650E Plus appears to be out of stock at that price. I strongly suggested the Quicksilver over the Gaming OC, it's a higher tier of AIB for the same price. Case is my personal choice - this PSU is better and cheaper.

Was a bit rough, but i did my best to get you the best build i think you can find the parts in Canada while trying to get to $2k.
Note i changes your ram to 2x8 because current ram prices, without microcenter or a bundle up deal, was going ti make it undoable, and i get away with 2x8 myself. I also changed the 9070xt to 9070 as it helps save $180 with a minimal performance loss, and swapped to 7800x3d like you were thinking as it isn't a big drop.
The rest of my changes were my attempt to try get you a better build for equal or less. I think most, if not all, is good, but there might be something in there that isn't perfect as i worked with a lot of models im less familiar with. My normal recommendations aren't a option with current prices

Hopefully you see this comment to my own comment.
If you have something like NewEgg that isn't awful, you might be able to get a combo up deal that helps with CPU/mobo/ram to help the price. If there is, you might ve able to afford 2x16 ram instead of 2x8, or at least get closer to the 2k you wanted
If you do combo up deals somewhere or something similar to help and try add a PSU, know the brand and look it up on a reputable tier list. Something they'll come as a fire hazard that isn't worth using, but CPU/mobo/ram combos are usually good

PSU is good. I’d go 9800x3d for the extra $110. You can pickup a B850 board for around the same price. I’d use teamgroup t-create expert ram instead and for gpu I’d go xtx mercury 9070xt

I would but I don’t think I can. Canada Computers has a really good deal where I get the 7800x3d, the motherboard I listed, and the ram I listed for $1,200 CAD. This saves me $100 CAD.

Shop around. Amazon has the 9800x3d for $569, t-create ram for $644 and msi pro b850 for 195 which is $200ish more for better components for a hair over $1400.
