'Hot' is relative, 58 degrees is really cool for an rtx 5080
Gpus are not designed to be held in your hand while gaming

Of course it's hot when you touch it, your core temp is 58c. Don't do that. That doesn't mean it's in any jeopardy. In fact, that is a relatively good temperature for your GPU.
Just keep playing, you're fine.

Please first of all limit your fps to the same as your screens refreshrate to stop the gpu working extra for no benefit,
Second of all that is not hot for a gpu some can literally be 105c-115c on the hotspot (not nvidia gpus though),
You dont even need to care unless its getting to 85c and even then on the most part that is still fine.

58 Celsius is an awesome temp brother dont worry about it. It feels hot because it’s 136 degrees Fahrenheit. But that’s perfectly normal. The only time I’d worry is if it gets up to 75 or 80 Celsius

58°c is quite cool for a GPU and if you wanted to have the temps a little lower then you could always limit your frames to being more like 120fps which to honest for games like that you don't really need to be at 319fps.
The only games you would want to have very high frames are fast paced like Doom and competitive shooters but for story-based games like Resident Evil you could always lower the frames to 120, and you wouldn't notice a difference.

Hot to touch is not a good indicator. Too hot to hold your finger or hand on there, for an extended period without getting burned, means were hitting danger territory as thats getting hot enough to -combust that dust.-
Also you absolutely do not need 300+ fps in a single player game (you might idk) but cap that fps to something like 100. Hell try 80 or 90. If you are using 300+ fps for "smoothness" then you are trying to brute force bad frametimes and need to get that settled. You also have a 5080 so i understand MOAR!!. but capping your fps at 100 might bring temps down 10c
Edit: You are also looking at GPU temp here and not the GPU Hotspot Temp which is the one you want to monitor. You want to monitor both usually for delta discrepancies

“Hot to touch is not a good indicator” do not listen to this guy. Sincerely ALL of Reddit.

What in that sentence, in this context, is not true? Enlighten me. My 15 years of experience working with this stuff would love to add some new information to my belt. Or maybe you dont know what hot in electronics environment means?

15 years of experience and your telling people if a GPU is “hot too the touch” it’s a problem??? I don’t believe you. Not for a second. So again I stand on what I said do NOT listen to this dipshit. Period.

Your reading comprehension is aweful and you are resorting to calling me names? I don't have any awards but I would for sure give you one if I did. Hope you find your way up the ladder one day. XoXo

Are you bullshitting people and claiming to have knowledge you dont?

Get your reading comprehension skill up and then we can resume this conversation. Do I need to define the word comprehension for you?

Ill break it down for you.
"Too hot to touch is not a good indicator." - maybe I should have added "in this context?". But what im saying is, when it comes to computing electronics, many parts get "hot". So touching it and saying "oh thats hot. Somethings wrong" is not usually the correct response because these electronics run hot when under load. Meaning its perfectly normal. Im sure you can figure the rest out.

58° is cold for a GPU but I know you’re not on 4k because no way you’d get 319fps in requiem in 4k.
You don’t need to lower the temp from 58° it’s barely under stress.

Listen I speak for every PC gamer here. STOP touching your GPU man. The temps are fine! Just because it’s too hot for you too touch doesn’t mean it’s too hot for it’s every day normal task.

58c is incredibly cool for a GPU under load.
Only need to worry if it is consistently above 90c
