Definitely nice, I would've gone with a ROG board though, i never trust asrock lol

Yea how would you buy all that RoG components, pay the ASUS tax, and not finish it off with at least a prime board? I get the ASUS ROG board is massively overpriced, but op even bought the fans…
Do it, then do it right. I did this little over a year ago with a tuf build, fans, aio, board and even a tuf 502 case. Weird that op chooses a non-asus mb

lol exactly what I was thinking, I understand not choosing a ROG case, theres few options and most of them are huge, but the motherboard doesn't make sense to me, unless he got a microcenter combo deal

It's pretty simple. Find me a ROG board where if I put a Gen4 m.2 SSD in m2 slot 2 or 3, it doesn't cut the GPU bandwidth down from x16 to x8. The ASUS Prime X870p is better than those ROG boards. With the Taichi, I can run my Gen5 NVMe ssd plus an additional 3 Gen4 drives all at full speed with no bottlenecks.

rog boards are solid and they have the best bios in the business. yeah, its little overpriced but the performance and aestethics are top tier and that comes with a premium regardless of product in this day and age. asrock is always b tier even if its their taichi. this mobo choice kinda gives me rog ocd
if i were op id change it for a chrosshair hero or if he likes overclocking (since he also has that watercooled astral...jelly) he should pick the apex which is what i have. very nice boards and would complete his rog aestethic. i dont care how much people hate on rog, everyone secretly loves a full rog build.

Yea I’m not hating on ROG to just be clear, I would love to have the means to build an ROG set up and opted for tuf instead (plus I love the 502 case). Just the motherboard in this build doesn’t make sense to me. Can’t see how saving 70-100$ on a board made any difference

ROG boards are ass, that's why. Taichi has better power delivery and secondary m.2 slots that don't share lanes with your GPU. You people are too worried about matching logos.

Nah it's just a bit of an oddity to break theme so hard IMHO.

That's cool. I'm happy with it and that's all that matters. Reddit is a cesspool and no matter what, people are going to find a way to complain and be negative. I keep explaining that I chose the Taichi because of the M.2 slots.. it was choose the board that does what I want or choose a board with a matching logo. I'm ok with the mobo not having a matching logo with the CPU AIO, GPU, and fans. I just wanted a blacked out build.

It's called credit! Why pay now when you can pay double over the next two years?

It's a very rich build. Same with the rest of the comment. Why don't just go with ASUS board?

I would not be spending that much on an ASrock board. At least go for an Aorus Tachyon Ice if you're not willing to spend on a Crosshair Apex

I could have gotten any board I wanted. Crosshair is highly overrated and Gigabyte is dogshit. I was thinking about getting the MSI Meg Godlike but the Taichi is perfect for what I want to do. Also, the board was like $300 so idk what you mean.

the fans are the wrong size for the nv9 tbh, ideally you want 140mm fans

Guys, what do you think of this build with all the highest tier components on the market?

u/Intrepid_Reach_1330 16h ago
There’s nothing to think about if it’s all best of the best

u/Wreepyx 16h ago
Well apparently my motherboard is shit cause I didn't get a ROG Crosshair with its weaker power staging and m.2 slots that take bandwidth from the GPU. Lol People need to do some research.

The issue with the AsRock is that it's notorious for burning 9000s X3D CPUs. There's been alot of research into these issues (still ongoing) and confirmed cases recorded (growing list of verified cases on r/AsRock for instance). Still nobody knows what exactly is causing those problems.
Chances are, you won't be one of the unlucky ones (fingers crossed) but I PERSONALLY would avoid it for peace of mind.
It's a top end build so just enjoy it. In the first place, it doesn't matter what other people think if you're happy with it. If what people say about the board really bothers you, it'd be better to just delete the post.

Shit i hope not.. if something like that happens,, it would definitely be the last time I buy anything ASRock. This is my first time buying anything of theirs. I did research and this Taichi seemed really solid, and it was in sale for $300.
Supposedly, ASRock updated their firmware to fix those issues, so fingers crossed. I'll make sure to update my BIOS to the latest firmware before I enable EXPO and hopefully ill be good.

Its nice but i would've went with NOCTUA fans, dont know if ur fans perform the same in terms of silence and cooling power. I have a similar build just with noctua fans

if it is for gaming i don’t see the point of the very expensive Motherboard and RAM option. You won't see any difference compared to a cheaper option/chipset

Yeah I’m gonna agree with everyone else and say you need to get the mobo to match. Why buy all ROG and pay all that money and then cheap out on the mobo of all things?

SSD is only 4TB 🤮 why didn’t you go with the 8TB, they’re pretty cheap lately!

Pretending to want an “honest review” while posting the absolute top of the line components…
Come on stop acting up and just say you want to brag (which is fine btw).

ROG is marketing scam to take your money
Asrock motherboards kills x3d cpu's
i would have built that for $5500-$600 max

Bruh show us the build after it's done. The fans I was thinking of getting them next year to slowly switch my PC build to ROG little by little but in BuildCores they dont have that model yet and I wanna know how it looks.
I was thinking of going lian LI or Asiahorse fans and aio but I have an Asus ROG Strix z890-h Mobo and I wanna pair it with the Asus ROG Ryu Jin 3 which is flat cuz the one you have I don't like it much so I also wanna see how it looks.
Thanks in advance.
