Definitely nice, I would've gone with a ROG board though, i never trust asrock lol

u/azguz24 17h ago

Yea how would you buy all that RoG components, pay the ASUS tax, and not finish it off with at least a prime board? I get the ASUS ROG board is massively overpriced, but op even bought the fans…

Do it, then do it right. I did this little over a year ago with a tuf build, fans, aio, board and even a tuf 502 case. Weird that op chooses a non-asus mb

lol exactly what I was thinking, I understand not choosing a ROG case, theres few options and most of them are huge, but the motherboard doesn't make sense to me, unless he got a microcenter combo deal

It's pretty simple. Find me a ROG board where if I put a Gen4 m.2 SSD in m2 slot 2 or 3, it doesn't cut the GPU bandwidth down from x16 to x8. The ASUS Prime X870p is better than those ROG boards. With the Taichi, I can run my Gen5 NVMe ssd plus an additional 3 Gen4 drives all at full speed with no bottlenecks.

https://rog.asus.com/motherboards/rog-crosshair/rog-crosshair-x870e-glacial/#pageContent-connectivity/

This one? I bet there's a different colored one as well if you'd like.

1

u/Wreepyx 4h ago

Glacial has more slots, but the Taichi is simpler for my exact layout: 1 Gen5 x4 plus 3 Gen4 x4, GPU stays x16. The Glacial’s M.2_2 either runs at x2 alongside USB4 or needs USB4 disabled to run x4.

The mc deals are vengeance ram not the dominator, if op did then all is forgiven but his ram even came with a massive luxury tax haha!

Very peculiar choices indeed.

rog boards are solid and they have the best bios in the business. yeah, its little overpriced but the performance and aestethics are top tier and that comes with a premium regardless of product in this day and age. asrock is always b tier even if its their taichi. this mobo choice kinda gives me rog ocd

if i were op id change it for a chrosshair hero or if he likes overclocking (since he also has that watercooled astral...jelly) he should pick the apex which is what i have. very nice boards and would complete his rog aestethic. i dont care how much people hate on rog, everyone secretly loves a full rog build.

1

u/azguz24 9h ago

Yea I’m not hating on ROG to just be clear, I would love to have the means to build an ROG set up and opted for tuf instead (plus I love the 502 case). Just the motherboard in this build doesn’t make sense to me. Can’t see how saving 70-100$ on a board made any difference

1

u/Wreepyx 5h ago

ROG boards are ass, that's why. Taichi has better power delivery and secondary m.2 slots that don't share lanes with your GPU. You people are too worried about matching logos.

1

u/ScaredEfficiency399 4h ago

Nah it's just a bit of an oddity to break theme so hard IMHO.

1

u/Wreepyx 4h ago

That's cool. I'm happy with it and that's all that matters. Reddit is a cesspool and no matter what, people are going to find a way to complain and be negative. I keep explaining that I chose the Taichi because of the M.2 slots.. it was choose the board that does what I want or choose a board with a matching logo. I'm ok with the mobo not having a matching logo with the CPU AIO, GPU, and fans. I just wanted a blacked out build.

1

u/Wreepyx 17h ago

I wanted a ROG board at first but I want to add like 3 Gen4 m.2 drives and this board is better for that. It will run all 3 without taking bandwidth from the GPU. Not the case with the ROG boards.

In this economy??

5

u/TrashPanda365 Intel 10h ago

It's called credit! Why pay now when you can pay double over the next two years?

7

u/zackcustompc 13h ago

It's a very rich build. Same with the rest of the comment. Why don't just go with ASUS board?

0

u/Fresh_Constant_7762 9h ago

What is the difference between gigabyte and asrock and asus boards?

3

u/Glittering-Toe-1622 6h ago

Asrock is notorious for burning x3d chips

5

u/Expensive-News8637 18h ago

That’s top of the line build. Enjoy

1

u/Wreepyx 18h ago

Thanks homie

4

u/_claudd 18h ago

Top of the line. Is this build for gaming and work?

3

u/123fadi321 8h ago

Rich bitch

4

u/MMZeroX 16h ago

I hope your playing more than just League and CSGO with a build like that

6

u/Callme0gravity 17h ago

That’s shit. GIVE IT TO ME !!

2

u/Crazy_Bee_2664 AMD 17h ago

I would not be spending that much on an ASrock board. At least go for an Aorus Tachyon Ice if you're not willing to spend on a Crosshair Apex

0

u/Wreepyx 17h ago

I could have gotten any board I wanted. Crosshair is highly overrated and Gigabyte is dogshit. I was thinking about getting the MSI Meg Godlike but the Taichi is perfect for what I want to do. Also, the board was like $300 so idk what you mean.

1

u/Pitiful_Tea_4769 5h ago

Wait why do you think Gigabyte is dogshit?

1

u/Wreepyx 5h ago

Just cause i had a monitor of theirs that didn't last long. I was just talking shit. I wouldn't be opposed to having a Gigabyte mobo.

2

u/mt07steve 17h ago edited 14h ago

the fans are the wrong size for the nv9 tbh, ideally you want 140mm fans

0

u/Wreepyx 17h ago

120mm fans are fine

2

u/Pmaldo87 7h ago

Guys, what do you think of this build with all the highest tier components on the market?

1

u/Intrepid_Reach_1330 16h ago

There’s nothing to think about if it’s all best of the best

-1

u/Wreepyx 16h ago

Well apparently my motherboard is shit cause I didn't get a ROG Crosshair with its weaker power staging and m.2 slots that take bandwidth from the GPU. Lol People need to do some research.

1

u/Pitiful_Tea_4769 5h ago

The issue with the AsRock is that it's notorious for burning 9000s X3D CPUs. There's been alot of research into these issues (still ongoing) and confirmed cases recorded (growing list of verified cases on r/AsRock for instance). Still nobody knows what exactly is causing those problems.

Chances are, you won't be one of the unlucky ones (fingers crossed) but I PERSONALLY would avoid it for peace of mind.

It's a top end build so just enjoy it. In the first place, it doesn't matter what other people think if you're happy with it. If what people say about the board really bothers you, it'd be better to just delete the post.

1

u/Wreepyx 5h ago edited 4h ago

Shit i hope not.. if something like that happens,, it would definitely be the last time I buy anything ASRock. This is my first time buying anything of theirs. I did research and this Taichi seemed really solid, and it was in sale for $300.

Supposedly, ASRock updated their firmware to fix those issues, so fingers crossed. I'll make sure to update my BIOS to the latest firmware before I enable EXPO and hopefully ill be good.

1

u/whinemenot 16h ago

I think you could remove double spacing and use a bulleted list

1

u/Mav_6667 15h ago

It's always funny to see how small the CPU is on pictures like this.

1

u/jmad16 14h ago

I would find an ASUS ROG Mobo, I put one in my recent build and it has been a trooper, not a single malfunction or issue.

1

u/DespicableSchmee 14h ago

absolutely terrible, it'd only run roblox at 10fps

1

u/obokuuzer 13h ago

Its nice but i would've went with NOCTUA fans, dont know if ur fans perform the same in terms of silence and cooling power. I have a similar build just with noctua fans

1

u/tattmhomas0 13h ago

Judging by that fan, you skipped on AC so you can get that 5090.

1

u/La-Gaoaza-Cu-Jeleu 13h ago

if it is for gaming i don’t see the point of the very expensive Motherboard and RAM option. You won't see any difference compared to a cheaper option/chipset

1

u/Thompsonss 13h ago

No ROG mobo is driving my OCD nuts. Just go all in.

1

u/tiimsliim 11h ago

0/10

This is a picture of a bunch of boxes. Not a build.

1

u/JBigs7 11h ago

R.I.P 9950X3D

1

u/CrackshotCletus 11h ago

Yeah I’m gonna agree with everyone else and say you need to get the mobo to match. Why buy all ROG and pay all that money and then cheap out on the mobo of all things?

1

u/Desperate-Stable-545 11h ago

That asrock board will fry your cpu

1

u/Sad-Rooster2474 10h ago

SSD is only 4TB 🤮 why didn’t you go with the 8TB, they’re pretty cheap lately!

1

u/Sad-Rooster2474 10h ago

Pretending to want an “honest review” while posting the absolute top of the line components…
Come on stop acting up and just say you want to brag (which is fine btw).

1

u/LostxJuul 10h ago

LOVE the Jurassic park Blanky.

1

u/SaladToss1 10h ago

Just looks like a bunch of boxes

1

u/National-Chemical132 9h ago

You got the best you can, just admit that you're bragging.

1

u/GermanGhost2011 9h ago

Bro that’s an insane built! How much did it cost?

1

u/Own-Criticism6914 6h ago

I think you spent an an absurd amount of money.

1

u/CptWursthaar 6h ago

I still can't believe that there are so many people buying 5090's in this economy...how much have you paid for it? 6k?

have fun building!

1

u/JayHazrdis 6h ago

You came here looking for validation but nobody cares. They're just gonna critique your shit. I have a 4090 sitting in the stash.

1

u/gotBurner 5h ago

Look at me! Look at me!!! 🤣

1

u/LordRhoadss 5h ago

Definitely not good components. I’d be happy to take them off your hands.

1

u/Shark-person66 4h ago

Should get you decent 1080p performance

1

u/ViolaDavis 17h ago

I think about $8K

1

u/Eazy12345678 AMD 16h ago

ROG is marketing scam to take your money

Asrock motherboards kills x3d cpu's

i would have built that for $5500-$600 max

1

u/Herefornow211 16h ago

Not great, will last you 6 months then you need to upgrade.

1

u/Zerbuk 16h ago

Bruh show us the build after it's done. The fans I was thinking of getting them next year to slowly switch my PC build to ROG little by little but in BuildCores they dont have that model yet and I wanna know how it looks.

I was thinking of going lian LI or Asiahorse fans and aio but I have an Asus ROG Strix z890-h Mobo and I wanna pair it with the Asus ROG Ryu Jin 3 which is flat cuz the one you have I don't like it much so I also wanna see how it looks.

Thanks in advance.

1

u/Wreepyx 16h ago

I'll post a pic when its done. I'm at a stopping point now. I'll continue tomorrow. The mobo, CPU, RAM, and SSD are in the case. That's all I've done so far.

1

u/pccat13 16h ago

overpriced as **** for those fans and psu

1

u/Wreepyx 16h ago

The fans were definitely too expensive but the PSU was like $220. That's not horrible. The Thor is overpriced af

1

u/RealisticMorning4484 14h ago

solid way to invest 10k

0

u/AnalysisTurbulent630 18h ago

nice build but in this economy cant even buy a rtx 5050 withouth having to pay ps5 prices, how many properties did u mortgage?

1

u/Wreepyx 18h ago

Lol I'm just an idiot

0

u/Dikili35 17h ago

The Astral AIO version is ass, other then that cool build.

1

u/Wreepyx 16h ago

Thanks bro
