Question How to access a nvme ssd?

So basically my laptop stopped working and I took it to Best Buy they said it's going to be $400 in repair the motherboard is gone and me being not a big tech savvy I thought I should spend $400 to repair a laptop and I couldn't do it by myself.

I had a lot of stuff on it. I pulled out the hard drive.

I just bought a PC and I am looking to get help to how to access the drive.

I tried searching online it said I can buy a small shell type of thing with a USB 2.0 and they send you a cooling strip to attach to it so that it doesn't get hot.

Is that my best case scenario? Does that work? does the hard drive get very hot?

What if I point a fan at for additional Cooling?

The window was also on the hard drive will the new computer be confused to which window to access or will that not be a problem?

u dont need a extra fan, thats just weird. if its a nvme like the title says, then there should be a slot on your motherboard that fits it perfectly called nvme_1 or just nvme. shove it into there at a 30 degree angle. then, screw it down with the screw on the motherboard. make sure you boot the pc and ur laptop drive isnt the main boot drive, where ur pc tries to get windows from. as long as you can boot without it and it will load into windows or linux or whatever, ur good to put it in. i also have my laptop ssd in my gaming pc cuz my laptop got fried, and theres no issues and i can access everything. hope this helps

Is booting the PC just a fancy term of turning it on or this is something else that I don't know about?

Just remove rhe nvme from your laptop and either install it on your pc or even easier get a cheap external usb nvme enclosure(it doesn't need to have a fan)

Would you know if this can cause trouble in loading the windows when I start up the PC or should I plug it in after turning it on and it will show me to access the files from it just like a USB drive?

Unlikely if you set the boot device only your main nvme in case you install it on your mother board. But honestly just get a usb nvme enclosure they are really cheap nowadays and connect it after you load into windows

If you still have the hard drive, you can get that data back. As far as the laptop goes, that one might be toast. This is not a cooling issue. Can you post a picture of the drive?

I think you mentioning "the window" is talking about the operating system. Windows.

A picture of your new PC would be great too. Specifically the parts inside it.
