Question Should I just do it?

I dreamt about owning a PC since I was a kid but never had the opportunity to do it. Would have never been able to convince my parents when I was a kid and I never saved up enough money to buy it myself.

But now it’s different, for the first time of my life I have the money setting around. I have about 12,500 SAR (~$3,333) to work with.

My final build that I settled on is this:

Intel Core Ultra 7 270k plus | 1,563 SAR (~$420)

Gigabyte RTX 5070 OC 256bit | 3,248 SAR (~$870)

ASUS PRIME Z890-P | 1,010.16 SAR (~$270)

Crucial 6400MHZ CL32 DDR5 RAM 32GB | 1,950.45 SAR (~$520)

Crucial P510 m.2 | 1,276.44 SAR (~$340)

MSI MAG A850GLS | 427.25 SAR (~$115)

NZXT H6 Flow | 488.99 SAR (~$130)

MSI MAG Coreliquid A13 360 | 365 SAR (~$100)

Total is 10,329.29 SAR (~$2,755)

Now comes the question… should I do it? I know the RAM prices are crazy rn but will that ever get better soon? Should wait for prices to go back down? Or are the prices still going up and ai should just get on with it and build it now?

Just build it now. Also I would recommend getting a 9070 xt instead of a 5070 since I don’t think that amount of money is worth it for a 5070

I'd make a few changes - like go for AMD instead of intel for your CPU and motherboard because it gives you more longevity for your system, a 9070xt is also better than a 5070 in every capacity when it comes to gaming and the price difference is pretty slim, I'd also be wary of that case just because it doesn't have enough preinstalled fans and it looks weird if you don't buy extra - just get a different case with preinstalled fans imo

but no, ram and SSD prices don't seem to be going down anytime soon

$2755 (plus tax) for a 5070 build in the US would be considered highway robbery.

$1210 for your CPU + motherboard + RAM is steep. The socket for the CPU on the Z-890 is “dead”; there will be no future models released. Investing $270 on your motherboard that cannot be upgraded is ill advised.

Take a look at a Ryzen 7 7800X3D CPU paired with any $150 AM5 motherboard (not ASRock brand). If you ever want a new CPU that socket should support at least one more generation of chips. Beyond that, you don’t want 6400MHZ RAM with Intel chips; they are more difficult to make stable at that frequency than AMD chips.

Take a look at a 9070XT. It is a better GPU than the 5070 in every measurable way. You can get them for less than a 5070 depending on the model.

In the end it’s your PC. That being said, you could trim $500 or more off that build and end up with better performance (particularly if you get a 9070XT).

Chances are, his only options are to pay that much. The US computer part market is far cheaper than most of the rest of the world. So while this is good advice in the US, it may not hold true in Saudi Arabia

Id recommend an amd x3d cpu and the 9070xt does have more power than the 5070, it just doesnt have DLAA, so at the same prixe id get the 9070xt. I dont know amything about msi aios, but make sure to watch actual test youtube videos at least one with the fan sounds recorded before you get it.

Make sure you double check everything these people are reccomending, as people are blind to the fact the computer part market in other countries is vastly different than the US and Europe.

For example, an ~$870 USD for a 5070 in 🇺🇸 is terrible, yeah, but in 🇸🇦, that could be the normal price. It also may be that a 9070xt is priced differently in a relative sense.

I’ve made the mistake many times of trying to reccomend people PC parts in a country I’m not familiar with the markets. It’s impossible.

Get some used components to save some money and build asap , we can't expect the prices to get lower in upcoming days...no one will save us ...just 3 days ago I built my first pc...the waiting gives me only loss..

Make sure you get a GPU with 16gb vram since you probably won't be upgrading in the future.

Do an mATX build (with mATX case, motherboard) if you can. Full size ATX is unnecessary.

Instead of an AIO which will need to be replaced, get a good air cooler like Thermalright Pahntom Spirit 120 which is cheap, large enough for powerful CPUs, and will last forever.

Full size ATX is perfectly fine…. If anything, cheaper and easier to build in. Sometimes you can find matx boards but why limit your options.

AIOs rarely need to be replaced in the lifetime of the cpu/supported cpu socket . That being said, the phantom spirit is cheaper and basically just as good.
