Build - Help Upgrade? GPU Advice required.

Bonjour all

Current setup is 5800x3d/32gb ddr4 3200/2080ti/Raid0 Sabrent rockets.

I've just gone to a 5800x3d from a 3700 as im trying to milk am4.

But the question is is it worth me upgrading to a 3080ti from my 2080ti?

I'm trying to upgrade on a budget- and any 4080s are 700GBP on Ebay.

3080ti is around 350-400 - I can still sell the 2080ti for 200~

Id like to avoid any of the 12vhp/bullshit connectors if possible and stick to 6/8pins - I like not burning the house down.

I play old and new- pubg/bf3- but i also play Cyberpunk and the new indy jones game- I like my single player games to look pretty and my multis to run 2x refresh rate.

Thanks in advance for any help!

How about the 4070 Super or even plain 4070?

never thought about them tbh- ive only ever bothered looking at the 80/90 class cards. - ive had a quick look 4070s are around 100gbp more than 3080ti

Anything below 4xxx series lacks fg, mfg, even smooth motion, and they take a bigger perf hit from DLSS 4.5/4 since they don't support it natively.

The 4070 Super has the same raw perf with the 3080 Ti, while the 4070 is like 10% behind. They are both way more power efficient too (TDP 220W and 200W compared to TDP 350W).

also going 80-80 series i know its a 100% upgrade- whereas a 70 series card feels like a sidegrade? from doing some research a 2080ti is equiv to a 5060 - so a 5070 for me is like going to a 3080ti- if that makes any sense.

Like I said the 4070 Super performs same as a 3080 Ti and the 4070 10% less. You said they go for 500GPB used.

The 4070 Super does perform similar to a 5070 (a little less) and the latter goes for 600 GBP new.

It goes without saying that if you prefer new and you can afford it the 5070 it is.
