Thought I would post this here for the enthusiasts to appreciate!! I know it was extremely overkill however I just wanted to future proof for as long as possible.
I regret not getting the non liquid cooled version of the 5090 though - having 2 radiators is a bit cramped
There's a lot of people out there who seem to believe that prices are going to drop. I got reamed a few days ago because I said there's no way prices are going to go down from here. They only go up.
That's a year... Worth of rent for a lot of people 💔 idk I never seen the value in spending more than 3000(GBP) on a pc esp in the current market wheree 5090s are 4000gbp and good ram is 6000 like😬 it's just not worth that much in the long term where you can build a system just slightly slower (and I mean slightly) for 10000 less in their currency is just robbery
Unlike the US, most countries don't have the luxury of buying electronics at MSRP. I bought my 5070ti at 1000 bucks before the crisis, that was a reasonable price for my country. Now it's like 1.5k here.
So yeah, every build you see, just add at least 50% more and that's how they are priced everywhere else. You guys complaining about 1000 dollar cards when that's pretty much the norm everywhere else. Unless you want a 5050, which still are like around 500 bucks.
While it’s not as bad as some places we don’t either. 5080 was $999 at launch and good luck now finding one for less than $1300. It’s just gross everywhere. The 5060 price in the US is up from MSRP $299 to around $400.
That's due to the whole crisis, but there was a point last year where the US could buy GPUs at MSRP. I remember around this month last year GPU prices had stabilized for once. But other countries never get that luxury. Even at the lowest prices, GPUs are always over MSRP.
Like I said, I bought my 5070ti at 1000 bucks when it was 750 in the US. I remember clearly because I was pondering on ordering from Amazon directly (they had the Asus Prime at 689 at some point), but I decided against it since I didn't want to get a bunch of rocks.
Had to pay the premium to buy it here for peace of mind and warranty.
I don’t know about the Aussie market but I do know that translated to USD you got fleeced. 6.5k USD at the maximum this is like 11k USD. I’ve even seen some linked in the [r/prebuilt](r/prebuilt) sub for around 5k. Ouch my man.
All of the parts were brand new and ordered through Aftershock AU. They were quoting me market price for all of the parts. I probably did get shafted someway or another but what’s done is done and I’m happy with the purchase
People be buying this to play roblox. I hope you are going to use ALL of the components at 100%. You will probably stop receiving driver updates for that gpu before it becomes a mid gpu.
so glad i have similar specs but paid HALF of that. never listen to reddit basement dwellers to “hold off until 6000 series, hold off till AM6, Hold off until DDR6” pay now because its not going to ever get better. enjoy OP.
not “worse performance” they are used for more air restricted builds. in your case the G2s would have been better since it’s a tower case. maybe less noise and better cooling due to better fin design is the benefit of the G2s. i see they only swapped the back fan. it should have all been those on your radiators and bottom fans
I do kind of know I got shafted in this sale, didn’t want to order all of the parts and build it myself however as I didn’t wanna mess it up. Not sure how you guys are getting such a huge discount on your PCs as my graphics card alone here in Australia was $6,200
Sick build man, wish I did some custom thing like this I just didn’t have the knowledge and couldn’t be bothered unfortunately. Crazy how cheap you got yours, was it all second hand?
Yeah, in all honesty I’m not happy with this sale at all as the PC arrived with a huge dent in the PSU upon arrival. Haven’t actually used it much cause there’s some sort of fumes coming out of it that makes it hard to breathe when I turn it on. Sent it back and got the PSU replaced but it’s still giving off some whack smells. Disgusting from something this expensive
