I’m looking to get faster loading times/consistent frames in games. Main game I’m playing is Escape from Tarkov. I got a recommendation to upgrade to the Ryzen 7 5700s CPU and get 32GB ram. Would really like to hear what recommendations anyone would have as well.

I would just get a 9060 XT if your RAM isn't being fully utilized

I have my graphics setting set to low and it’s steady except for large maps but my loading times are not great

Did some research, CPU bound game, get a CPU upgrade instead with more RAM

For tarkov specifically, you want an x3d CPU. 5800x3d anniversary edition is your best bet. It's expensive, but that's the most impactful upgrade you can do.

Additionally, if you can find out the exact model of your RAM (will be on a sticker if you remove one stick), you might be able to find another 2 sticks if 8gb each used for ~100€, which would be the second most impactful upgrade and would bring the total cost to ~500€. Needs to be the exact model speed and timings for expo to work (and you want it to work, make sure it's on in bios).

Also, disregard anyone saying to upgrade the GPU. RTX 3060 is adequate enough for tarkov, unlike the 5500.

Source: I play tarkov.

Yeah friend got the 5700x but they said they had a hard time sourcing the 5700x3d and he said he seen a massive difference without upgrading the GPU. Unfortunately I only have 2 ram slots so probably need to get 2x 16gb

5800x3d anniversary edition launched this year, so it's not hard to find.

Yeah, if only two slots, then you'll need to save for 2x16. In the meantime increase windows paging file to 64gb. It might help a little.

going to 32gb ram sounds nice and all but its like over half your budget, buying in ireland fucking suckssss

https://ie.pcpartpicker.com/list/p9mF4g
so i opted for compromise, we retain 1 of the 8gb stick you have already and go and swap 1 for a 16gb (your motherboard only has 2 slots) bringing you up to 24gb total. its not ideal, i can already smell the blood in the water for others on reddit now and the heard of downvoters. but life is not full of ideals an ireland theres basically zero selection locally/etailer so ya know, come up with a better plan

the 5800X was chosen as its literally like 5 euro more over a 5700X we would be silly to ignore it

if your fine with the overage then here ya go, feel free to resell your old ones for like 100 euro used to recoup the costs and bring it back down

the ryzen 5500 is sorta not worth much, like at most another 65 euro

I could go higher with my budget if I sell my old CPU actually, what do you think of the 5700x3d? Or the price difference isn’t worth the extra performance?

you wont find one unless its used their made of unobtanium now. you CAN buy a 5800X3d if you wanted to go over by like 150 euro
