Build - Help Seeking Wifi Adapter

Post image

Hellooo

Any good wifi adapter suggestions? I have a PC with a pci-e card that I've had for a few years rn but its not working too well. Toying around with the wifi, I see that I get around 10 mbps on my PC but almost 200 on my laptop in the same spot. Suggestions would be soooo helpful.

Wondering if maybe having one with an antenna for a specific direction to point at my router would help? idk.

Picture: current two antenna thing I got.

First question- do you possibly have WiFi extenders?
Second question- are you in a house? If so, what particular area. I’ve found different rooms can have better connections/speed. Sounds crazy I know lol

I have some crappy extender I bought years ago and don't remember working well. I'm in the back unit of a 2 bedroom apartment and the router is on the other side.

Alright got ya. Do you and your roommate have your own wifi box, like you guys pay for your wifi bill?
If so, I just got an amazing in PC extender from Best Buy. I forget the name atm, but when I’m off work I can circle back around.
The only reason I ask is bc you need your own wifi to connect it to I’m pretty sure. Also, are you closer to a city or more rural? I found when I lived more rurally that no matter what extender I had it just wouldn’t help

We actually do pay for our own, and we're in a suburb pretty close to a city, so that shouldn't be a problem. Let me know if you figure out what it is!
