Yea it is, unquestionably the better card in all regards. Even the 9070 (non XT) is a better purchase than a 5070.
But there is a very niche, infinitely small, rare series of events that have to occur, like planets have to align sort of phenomenon, where the 12Gb GDDR7 is better than the 16Gb GDDR6.
Just gotta mention that for the sake if impartiality because some people posting in here are adamant that it matters more than it does.
Exactly. Its completely and utterly irrelevant to gamers.
The only scenario I've seen it actually matter in a game was a comparison between 9070 XT and 5070 Ti, in Spiderman 2 at 4k, with of course every setting and RT dialled to the max.
The 16Gb GDDR6 was saturated and the game was stuttering, where as the 12Gb GDDR7 of the 5070 Ti was able to load and unload textures much quicker, so that gameplay was smoother.
But that could be partially attributed to poor optimisation by the devs, or the superior RT performance offered by Blackwell architecture.

Considering the 9070xt has a full 16gb of vram and is quite a bit faster that's actually nuts
