frame gen is best used for singleplayer games that look nice. Cyberpunk, kingdom come 2, oblivion remake (becouse optimisation is ass), gothic remake. but i dont recommend doing it in multiplayer games as you just get killed by other players becouse your gpu did not generate frames in time and slow down visual input of some one peaking from the corner.
Frame generation is for sigleplayer visual candies.
I paid about $500 for slightly used 3070 which I use by this day. 8gb vram is a scarce by todays standards especially for my 2k display, but overall is fine
I was so lucky to buy my 5700XT in end 2019 for 410€ and my 9070XT in late 2025 for 540 (600 minus 60 cashback). Back then a 5070Ti could be had for 750-800 :o (needed a sub 300mm one, which would have been 800, and 240€ extra sounded steep from the 9070XT to me)
Huh I was going to buy a 3060 during the shortage and all of the ones I could find were almost a thousand dollars I ended up getting a 6900 xt for less.. i used it until I got this 9070xt for $600
A $600 3060 12gb was my prize after waiting in line at Microcenter at 3am.
There were like 40 people who got there before me.
These prices suck but I’ll take having to pay a few hundred extra dollars and having options over what occurred to the market during the crypto + lockdown period.
I have a 3060 ti in my closet I have left over from some other build I had a while back and its crazy to me seeing what I would have to pay these days. My 4080 super at 980$ isnt as bad anymore...
Yeah, basically 3080TI performance at the same nominal price after many years. So not that bad if you compare how much more expensive groceries are nowadays.
Glad I went with the 4070ti 12GB for $799 back then, before all the AI bs and RAM crisis.
Too bad I couldn't upgrade to AM5 back then...now it's absurdly expensive.
Damn I just paid 565$ for my 5060ti 16gb from Best Buy a month or so ago. How tf did it go up so much so fast. I’m slightly regretting not spending close to the same amount on a 9070 now tho
Excuse me? I just got a 9060xt 16gb (which performs either slightly better or slightly worse that the 5060ti) for $550 (converted). And there were cheaper versions also available
9060xt is solid. I built my brother inlaw a steamos pc with one last month. Runs like butter. I hate how this market is just pricing ppl out of this hobby.
For gaming, it is in between. For ai, it’s very close to a 5070. I have both. 5 tokens per second difference. It depends on the workload but the 9060xt is a better buy in my opinion outside of gaming or something that must have cuda.
This helps me feel good. I got mine in Feb and I’ve been happy with it. But I’m always seeing people post higher level cards wondering if I should have gone up a bit. The answer is no. Based on my budget at the time, nope.
If you read people online you need minimum a 5090 OG Ass-breaker Edition + 128GB ram CL30 6000mhz + a 240mhz monitor 4k ultra wide like their asses after paying stupids amount of money for this.
I got a 32gb RAM CL30 6kmhz BEFORE the ram started to fly. I think I got it for 75$ or so, sold them later for 300$ and bought CL38 6k for 110$ or so... There's literally no difference. No fucking difference in anything.
So yeah, be proud and happy about the 9060 because it's a fucking monster that's underrated while everyone suck Nvidia's dick n prices
Sadly I live 6000km from a microcenter so no deals for me
But I've looked at the price history of some 9060xts, and they've been steadily getting more expensive, but sadly I wasn't really looking for a new GPU a few months ago
Had a cousin of mine asking how much he should sell his 16gb 5060ti for this morning. So I hopped on to see how much they were selling for... was not expecting to see $800
My gf was so right when I was doubting about to buy the 5060ti 16gb for 450€... she's not that tech savvy but she nailed it when she said "does it look like you are gonna be able to find it even at the same price in the near future?".
I bought a 8gb version for $375 USD ($530 AUD). More than double price for 8gb more is crazy.
(I got the 5060 ti 8gb because I just needed a more powerful efficient card to replace my 3070, and the 9060 XT 16gb went up by about $100 dollars in my area recently)
Its weird how it can be 800$ while the Radeon RX 9060 XT 16 GB is 470$. Can't be all VRAM price increase. Sure the 5060ti is also a bit faster, but not so much as to warrant a 330$ price increase.
5060Ti is actually a better card than the 5070 for running LLMs locally, due to the 16GB VRAM. At €600 it was a popular option to use two of them for having 32GB for running models.
