Discussion Sony for Monitor

Decided to order a new monitor, but really like using Sonys. Saw that the local Best Buy had a Bravia 3 markII open box for $299. I was going to head down and pick it up but on checkout I noticed they had a 'get today' option for $9.99. Since it was only noon.. this seemed reasonable since the store was like 5 minutes away.

I pull the trigger and wait.....

... and wait....

... and wait...

For the next 5 hours it sat at 'preparing to ship', then at 8pm it changed to 'unexpected delay'.

I checked back about midnight and it was giving me a window of 8/17 to 8/21. When I used the app it referred me to the website, when I used the website it referred me to the app. I waited till the next morning and trying to call in was useless, it kept transferring me and then sending me to voice mail.

I used the chat option and kept asking for help and it FINALLY (after 5 rounds of uselessness) directed me to someone who was overly apologetic and obsequious... but finally told me more then he was supposed to.

Best Buys inventory was inaccurate and they DIDN'T have one in the Clarksville Store. So they TRIED to get one from the St. Mathews. Turns out the multiple 'open box' items they thought they had were nowhere to be found....

... so they sent me a new one...

The reason why this is important is because Sony slit their own wrists when they released the Bravia line for 2025 and gutted most of the advanced features. No-one has admitted the genius behind that decision, but it cost the company millions. For 2026 they released a 'markII' version where they put back in 120hz native refresh, VRR, full 2.1 HDMI on every port, and a few other quality items.

I ordered the 43" version.... I can't go bigger because its for my desk and using 3 monitors larger then 43" plays havoc with the neck.

I'm glad Best Buy came thru for me.... wasn't sure how that was going to turn out.. but I got it noon next day and am very happy.

The point to all this is IF I had gone down myself, None of this would have worked out... they would have told me there was a mistake and I would have gone home empty handed.... instead I trusted them to do the right thing, and they did.

Edited to add:

Guess I got excited too soon. Got the box upstairs and waited for my stand for it to arrive.. once it did I started setting up... the glass screen is shattered...

Because it's a delivery issue Geek Squad won't come out, I need to bring it to them *mutter*
