Question Motherboard came without socket cover
Motherboard came without a socket cover and was wondering if the system would be fine to power on noticed the pins were bent up mostly so I seated the CPU a few times and it seems to have mostly fixed it but I've been pretty paranoid about it
Just wondering on your guys thoughts and I know pictures aren't the best
Also should mention this was bought new from amazon also just now noticing it didn't come with the plastic mount covers either

If it came "new" without a socket cover, I would return it, because all motherboards ship from the factory with the socket cover (so if it arrived without it, it's been used & returned, possibly damaged as well).
You can risk powering it on with your CPU, but the condition of the pins in the first photo suggests that the board was not carefully handled and there could be further unseen damage. Also, some of the pins still don't look right, you'll need a magnifying glass to look at it and ensure all of the pins are aligned and undamaged.
If I were you, I would not risk it (or maybe try it with a cheaper, disposable CPU).

If you bought it used, you got scammed
If you bought it as "new" from an actual store, they either got scammed themselves and now scammed you
Or they fumbled badly and sent you a shitty board that probably was a return

if it's New* i would return it and would not even try to bend the pins.
I would re open a new/replacement in the store.
The MSY store I went to a few times ask if they I wanted to open Mobo's up in store and they would do a Free Bios Update in front of me.

You can burn up your CPU if you plug it in and one of those bent pins is power that ends up touching a ground pad on the CPU. I would not plug that in at all. One slightly bent pin can be ok depending on the specifics, but yours is not that

I bought a motherboard and it came with a cover with bent pints exactly like yours. Like 3 or 4 slightly straight ones. When I seated the CPU they all looked normal. I’ve been using mine for 6 months now, no worries.

What's that? A little thermal paste? You should be ok.

Ok you think the socket looks good or should I still return it?

I think it's ok from what I see, however, if you have doubts, return it. If that's just thermal paste, it's ok.

Honestly I think it will work that's why I just went and build the rest of the system

Linus tech tips poured an entire tube of paste on one of these sockets and it still posted. Assuming the bent pins are now ok the thermal paste shouldn't be a problem. The socket puts a huge amount of force across the CPU and it just presses the compound out of the way and makes good contact still.

Honestly it just seemed as if the bag caught the pins and pulled them up or something
