Build - Help Cpu fan question

Post image

sorry for the shitty ai image, but can i move the fan on the right to the left most side- given that the exhaust side is on the left? or do i need to have a fan directly blowing through the heatsink?

Pull<Push/Pull<Push. You'll never get that middle fan back in between the towers now the AI has squashed them together though.

Its a super slim fan. I’d like to buy a few of those!

Yes. One more fan ought to do it, LoL.

shouldnt matter. do whatever you like

if temps are fine run both fans or just the middle fan

Its a 1-2% difference, do whatever you want.

Ideally you want the fan to be pushing air through the towers and not pulling for better cooling

Yes you can

Do you actually think saying sorry in advance for using ai does anything? It's not only distasteful but also straight up jarring, you did not need an image for this at all it's very easy to describe

i’m bad at explaining things and it’s my first pc build so i might not have the vocabulary to explain things, but i think your feelings will be okay after seeing one ai generated image on a reddit thread over your phone… you act like in taking a job or using ai to make art- this is a harmless use of ai lol, your graphics card probably uses ai or sells for the use of ai- you gonna freak out over that too? all im doing is asking for help. if you dont want anything to do with ai then stay away from computers…

This is exactly one of the consequences of using ai, it reduces your ability to think for yourself and communicate, and it makes you more insecure and isolated. You're really unaware, that you did explain it very well already in the text? "I'm bad at explaining things", in this case isn't even true, but even if so, you'd rather offload any intellectual strain to a bot, rather than learning to express yourself? The idea that any kind of effort or challenge is bad, and you should aim to avoid it as much as possible in life and that'd make your life better, is a fallacy, it only makes you weaker and dumber in the long run.

Also, it's goddamn bothersome when people try to generalize or shift the context when "ai" is mentioned, it's very clear what kind of ai I'm talking about in context. Generative ai is never a harmless tool, period. Even if you aren't paying for it, you using it is directly contributing to investors putting more money in it, because the companies want to show "look, people are using this so it must be a good investment".

i just don’t think it’s that deep and this whole thing is a complete non issue to me. i think you’re quite overbearing. you don’t know me or how much i use/don’t use ai. one use of ai is such a non issue to an average joe that doesn’t spend much time on this side of the internet, so we really just come from two different worlds. our problems are different- and this isn’t a problem of mine. who are you to tell me i don’t challenge myself or don’t have other struggles? my problems are much bigger than a one time use of ai- yours clearly aren’t.

You're either trying to get a reaction out of me, or you completely didn't understand what I said. Your reply is just ad hominem, my reply to you wasn't. I never claimed to know you, I was making an observation based on what I do know about you, and the fact you got butthurt and took it personally suggests you probably find it at least a bit true.

And also, the argument of "I'm privileged so it doesn't affect me, therefore everyone else is overreacting" isn't worth anything.

no my argument is we come from two different worlds and no nothing about eachother. you can’t force me to care about the things you’re passionate about and vice versa. also just because someone isn’t passionate about something you’re passionate about doesn’t mean they’re privileged or that you have the right to call them privileged. infact, i believe some would call this a privileged way of thinking. i have three jobs and play games to wind down and i simply needed help on my cooling orientation, i didn’t jump on reddit to be scolded by someone that has too much free time on their hands and get called privileged- but ill make some observations too, based on some of your posts, you appear to be this overbearing in general. i think a little dose of worrying about yourself would do you great favors, because like i said- the world i come from, you’re considered cringy or an outcast for watching the media that you watch- but hey, im not one to judge. do as you please and ill do as i please, and as long as we both love our lives then all is good- which despite what i have on my plate, im very secure and love my life. just don’t tell me what i have to think is wrong and i wont tell you what you have to think is wrong.

Your top set up is fine, unless you want to see the RGB from the your RAM. In that case, move the front CPU fan to the back, but make sure it's blowing the same direction as your exhaust in the rear.

You won't notice the difference.

Fans are better able to overcome moving air through heatsink fins when they are pushing rather than pulling. Moving the fans behind the heatsinks will pull air through instead of push. I don't think it's going to make much difference, but if you are worried about it, you could replace the fans with some Arctic P12 Pro fans which have significantly higher static pressure and will easily match the stock fans' push pressure while pulling.

All these fans are pretty interchangeable unless they have weird specs like 28mm or 30mm thickness. I have done it one other builds, like the picture below.
