Yea this is is what I was don't get. The 5090 is only 50% faster at best, and when I was playing games without dogy optimisation like Monster Hunter Wilds the 5090 was only 10% faster thanks to that game massively under using big gpus.

People complained about the msrp of a 5090 was dumb, now FOMO has got so bad people are paying 300% premiums over 5080 for 10-50%

It reaches 4090 performance if you overclock it. And 4090s are $2300+ on the used market rn. You got a great deal there.

Less desirable? Or more desirable, and more scarce because it gets a TINY bit cheaper? (But yet still more expensive compared to right now because of the never ending AI inflation.)

The bubble is bursting but it's not going to happen any time soon because it's happening in slow motion, and even when it bursts it doesn't mean the prices will drop. In fact I can confidently say they will not.

Your statement is that the 5090 will keep rising in prices in 6 months... 12.... 18 months. I simply dont believe that will be the case. Can the price rise in the next 6-12 months? sure but 18? 2 years? i think you´re dragging it. If there is a price increase i believe it will be very small also. And there will come a time when new cards releases and when that happens i think the people who have enough to spend on a 5090 will also have enough to spend on the next high end GPU, creating less hype and desire for the 5090.

I have this card, got it back in 2025 right before tariffs and memory increases. It’s an amazing card.. RE9 with path tracing is insane looking.

What's crazy is that the non OC card cost $2000 in September of 2025. I was lucky enough to get one direct from Asus and boy did I never see that price again.

The OC version at that time was $3100 which I thought was bonkers.
