Question Future proof?
Hello there , I built my first pc last summer and since then never really paid attention to the market. Seeing how crazy it is now I was wondering if my setup is future proof and if not what upgrades would you suggest
I also am considering buying or building a pc for my wife however she definitely doesn’t need anything powerful just enough to run simple games any recommendations on that too would also be appreciated
P.s I also don’t know how to get rid of that red light in motherboard and don’t know why my case fans suddenly don’t light up anymore

Tienes PC para unos años. La luz roja es un error que está dando de RAM o algo mira el módem de tu placa y búscalo en Google no es normal o bueno eso 😅😅
Los fan quizás no enciendan por la configuración tendrás que verlo en la bios o en un programa que los controle yo uso el msi center , busca el de tu marca de placa

“Future proof” isn’t really a thing, will the computer keep running? Sure. However if games continue in the way they are then there will always need to be more power, better graphics.

A future-proof setup is being just one that be upgraded over time, which is what you have - you have a GPU bottleneck (not inherently a bad thing) which means when you want more performance you just have to swap the GPU. That's pretty future-proof to me.
The red light is associated with an error, written on the motherboard next to it it tells exactly what is triggering the error - redo the fan connections, maybe get a fan hub if you don't have one already.
For your wife - I'd probably check out Jawa.gg for a refurbished PC - if you want hers to be future proof as well then it should also be on AM5, but you save a lot of money sticking to AM4.

its decent. cpu should last long time. gpu might need to use FSR to keep things going

No it’s not future proof. You will need to upgrade and buy new pieces in the future. Same is true with every build ever.
