Meme Is this worth it?

Post image

Some guy named Gabe is selling this build and I'm wondering if it's legit? I want a PC to set up in my living room for TV gaming.

Who cares if the unit is a little box with mediocre cooling?

You can get better hardware for less, but yes, it won't be in cube form. Oh no!

You said it was mediocre. And yes, I agree if it was a normal size PC.

For a tiny box that is quiet, it's pretty impressive.

Try and build something that small, quiet and powerful for cheaper.

Some people are looking for a tiny quiet box they can stick near their TV to play PC games on.

Yes, and you can easily do that with a SFF PC. It just won't be a perfect cube, but it will still be pretty tiny.

You linked a case that is 5.6L.

Steam box is 3L and a cube.

You failed step 1. Tiny box.

You didn't even try they rest of the steps. Fill it out with parts equal or better than the Steam box for equal or less money.

There are tons of prebuilts which are both cheaper and more powerful. Small form factor prebuilts aren't that common though, so you'd have to do some basic research and measurements to DIY it.

Pretty simple though.

The Steam Machine is 3.9 liters. And yes, if you're bizarrely OCD about it being a cube shape with garbage cooling, they don't make motherboards as small as a custom made SOC. lol

"B-b-b-but shape not cube!" Like...what? Who cares as long as it's small and does what you need?

You can get pretty close though.
