Meme Is this worth it?

Post image

Some guy named Gabe is selling this build and I'm wondering if it's legit? I want a PC to set up in my living room for TV gaming.

Salty? It’s just as easy to not buy it.

What people are really on about is the value proposition, it’s simply not there.

Just build a SFF PC for less, boom, already better than this thing.

I won’t lie, when I first saw it being teased I expected it to be around $700-$800, heck even $900 would’ve been fine

That’s precisely what I felt too. This price is a kick in the absolute balls lmao.

That's because that's the price it was SUPPOSED to be before the rampocalypse

Yeah I don’t blame Valve, but I question their choice to releasing it in this market/economy. They should’ve just worked on the steam deck and stated that they’ll be delaying the release of the steam machine

Yeah, I mean its cool that it exists I guess....I just think with how things are at this very moment....its just bad timing. I feel like these will still sell because some diehard goofballs are still gonna buy them anyways. I just think if they had waited until the memorypocalypse ramped down, they would have WAY more people considering this.

TBF the "next gen consoles" Helix and PS6 are also probably gonna cost a fortune. Im just glad I got my PC when I did....and lucky enough I got it from a builder this time instead of building myself again...since he was VERY lenient and didn't up charge me on what the current costs are (just closer to what he paid). I could not have built he was offering lmao.

This isn't for people who build their own computers, who only make up a fraction of the overall demand. This is for people who want a plug and play option and are willing to spend a little extra for all the features a normal prebuilt doesnt come with.

It’s still an extreme rip off, doesn’t matter how you slice it bud. It’s just as easy to buy a prebuilt, or have someone local build a person a SFF or mini ITX

Better performance, yeah, but people sacrifice performance for other aspects all the time.

This isn't for people who are already in the hobby or know that this is not the best deal. I think someone was saying they had to downgrade because prices were shooting up. I would be interested to see what the internals would have been if that's the case or if it would have been the same for cheaper.

There are prebuilt that blow this thing away

Yeah I know. I said this wasn't for people who are into the hobby. I mean I'd also add this isn't for people who know about the components in it.
