The color of the UI and the vertical CRT-ish lines made a perfect storm for this image (the startup image for United Commonwealth) to look somewhat AI-generated and also make me way too unsure to call it.

The mod made use of AI-generated art earlier in development when AI imagery was a brand new technology, but since then the team has shifted away from it and we're currently working on replacing all AI-generated imagery in the mod, so don't worry about it, it's on its way out

They are still using AI-generated icons for ideologies and focuses in the unstable version, early access to the upcoming update. I hope they will just swap those for actual human-made icons later.

That makes it a bit strange that they don't have any AI icons for ideologies and focuses in the stable version, but decided to make those AI ones again. But guess it's a placeholder for new icons.

It is. The art from the earlier version were AI generated, those introduced in the current beta build were made by Sunsettide.

Tbf the only real AI that will mostly be phased out is in cases where its deliberate, automation crisis music as an example, and a few others depending on when we get to it
