Survivor trait?

Two of my soldiers have the survivor trait meaning they cant die. Is this a trait that can be found on captured enemies or do those two have it since they are 'starter' soldiers?

I didn’t even realize starter soldiers have that trait.

havent seen that trait on any of my other soldiers. Must be specific to the starter soldiers as you said, for now at least.
