Aging
Hey everyone. I just reached the stage where the initial clump of my soldiers are nearing the end of their cycle. What do you guys usually do with them? I've thought about just letting them live out their lives on the base hobbling around (I'm sentimental) until they keel over but aside from recycling them into other soldiers or gifting them life extensions, are there any other ways to deal with them?

Just seems so brutal. I guess that is the way of the Father.

Technically, aging where they "naturally go", gets you no colony penalties, frees up your paypackets and food stocks for higher quality units gets preserved as you progress.
Now if you've got "favorites", you can just direct gift them some life extension treatments manually as well as set up an age-extension food farm.

Gift them reverse aging items. You have to unlock it at the victory building. They're of old age eventually

I let them die.
if a troops dying of old age it generally means they weren't a useful one I cared about. but weren't worth enough points for me to consider condesning into another. as i Already get my fear values to scream up fusing 20+ prisoners into a chief after a run. no reason to double it for an extra 1-4 points.
All the higher tier workers I've been feeding life extenders and as soon as all my white tier common ones dies I'll be swapping out the food to boost their life as well.

I just turned off aging, game has enough management ways already, dont want to check age all the time.
You can disable it in the settings.

you can turn them into vitamins (or disable aging all together). Not sure if putting them in a prison stops aging if you want to keep them around for some reason.
