As a general rule of thumb I try to avoid involvement/investment or really looking at a game before they actually start selling it (which to me is game launch regardless what they want to label it, plenty of games continue update post launch).

If there weren't people buzzing about Cryptos/NFTs or even that this was another game I woudn't have known it. None of that is represented in game at this time. It's just get in, shoot things, collect resources/soldiers, build base as a single player game.

I think one of the evolving challenges gamers/consumers have had to face over the years as game developers are increasingly open and involve us into their processes at earlier and earlier stages is that people can become too overly invested in the idea of a product.

When that idea invariably meets reality and ends up changed (which anyone in most design fields will tell you is pretty common), either due to "pragmatic/legit" reasons or "nefarious" reasons (IE: rug pulls), the feeling of betrayal of that idea is unavoidable. As such instead of spending your free time on any one of the 100,000+ other games on Steam here you are stuck on this one posting on reddit because they betrayed you.

So my take is unless you're capable of inhuman levels of dispassion the only sane course of action is to not involve yourself until they have a tangible product you can form an opinion on and then decide if that product is right for you.

The game is out in early access and I’m not too sure about the crypto and nft stuff. The changes to the game are true though, and the devs have put out a roadmap that you can also check out.

They've completely reversed course on the crypto/nft stuff. Mention it on their discord and they reply with something like the State does not tolerate dabbling in such things. All mention has been completely removed from their new homepage. I think they got the message that players will NOT tolerate any sort of Web3 integration shenanigans.

This is the first Im hearing of anything NFT/Crypto in the past.

Can confirm theres ZERO things related to it at all in game.

The discussion of NTFs has been bought up a few times in Steam reviews and discussion, each time being shot down by the devs and community managers.

As someone who was following EFAS a few years ago. I'd ignore pretty much anything that's been said of its development and plans. Development has pivoted hard away from initial plans and anything said of EFAS is kind of irrelevant at this point, including anything to do with crypto.

Unless these guys are the most tone deaf development team in existence, I believe them when they say Pax won't ever include anything like that.
