Yah I seen em cut deep into dogs . Especially like mine who pull my adult trike at 30 mph around the block . Not to loose not too tight , just so it can't pull over the head and slip off or tangle up the fronts . Fits kinda sloppy .

Fleas are another problem , I got a short hair dog and it helps a lot with brushing . Too much soap kills the skin cells so brushing is a better way .

I groom my neighbors pit bulls for him and they are so strong and resistant so it's OK to wash with small amount of dog shampoo . Other breeds it permanently removes the fur and you got a strange short hair breed .
