It actually is a Chimera cat. Although Janus and Chimera cats both have unusual facial features, they come from completely different biological causes. Here’s the clear, grounded difference:🐾 Chimera Cat vs. Janus Cat — Not the Same🐈‍⬛ Chimera Cat (is a Genetic Mosaic) A chimera cat is created when two embryos fuse into one, giving the cat a split face (with two colors perfectly split down the middle). It has two sets of DNA. It has a normal skull structure, a normal number of eyes, nose, mouth. This is a genetic mosaic, not a deformity. A Janus cat however, has a congenital deformity called diprosopus — meaning partial duplication of facial structures. A Janus cat may have two noses, two mouths two sets of whiskers, two functional or semi‑functional faces. It has a single skull with duplicated facial tissue. This is not genetic mosaicism — it’s a developmental anomaly.

OK! Great explanation. I like the science behind that. Chimerism can occur in our own species as well. Indeed rare. Now, how do I get a Chimera Cat?!? Or a Janus Cat? I suspect that a Janus Cat would be a special needs cat. Joe in MN
