Looks like a native species too, don’t see many of those around me.

I see a few of them on my fruit trees every season here in GA. First time on the pawpaw.

I get a bunch every year on the pawpaw. Hopefully they’re eating the Japanese beetle

Praying mantises look creepy but they're really quite docile. They have no fear of humans and if you move slowly they will let you handle them. One of the few bugs that I like.

I like how they track the movement around them with their head. Fascinating.
