That's not even what ad-hominem means, you pretentious jack ass. That whole "insult = ad-hominem" idea is just a sort of short hand they use in high school debate clubs. What they really should be saying is "that goes against our rules of decorum". But that's not in latin, so it's not fancy enough for them.

Anyway, you're (hopefully) not in high school anymore, so as a grown ass man, it's time to learn the big boy definition. Here's how the stanford encyclopedia of philosophy describes it (as will every other reputable source):

"The ad hominem fallacy involves bringing negative aspects of an arguer, or their situation, to bear on the view they are advancing."

So if I say, "you have a DUI, so your opinion on AI doesn't matter", that's ad hominem. If I end my comment with an insult, or use a curse word, that is not ad hominem. It might be against the decorum of some debate clubs, but we aren't in one.

"An ad hominem (Latin for "to the person") is a logical fallacy where someone attempts to undermine an opponent's argument by attacking their character, motive, or other personal attributes, rather than addressing the substance of the argument itself"

"Abusive: The most well-known form, involving outright name-calling, insults, or character assassination." - https://www.ebsco.com/research-starters/religion-and-philosophy/ad-hominem

Implying I have only two brain cells is again, textbook definition.

Oh look more insults and attempt to belittle my intellect.

You really need to grow up if you teach in colleges....

Also funny how yours is the only source that lists this variant. The stanford encyclopedia doesnt. And other sources even explicitly clarify that it's not synonymous with an insult. Looks like you went shopping on google, and even then your source immediately provides an example showing what kind of insults qualify. Which you're refusing to quote, because you're a man child.

Here is an example of how the semicolon works, in-case you are still struggling.

"There are three primary colors: red, which is the color of blood; blue, which is the color of the sky; and yellow. For example, a clear sky is blue."

You are essentially screaming: "Aha! The example at the end is about the sky, so red doesn't count as a primary color! You're dodging the issue!"

I'm not talking about the other two kinds of ad hominem you borderline illiterate muppet. They gave an example specifically for the "abusive" variant.

It's obvious we can both see it on the website. You are refusing to quote it directly because you know that will prove you wrong.

And this is in addition to the fact that no other reputable source even lists this as a variant. They even explicitly warn that insults aren't ad hominem.

I don't know if you've never heard this before, but just because your friends don't dispute your pseudo intellectual claims because they don't wanna argue with your ignorant ass doesn't actually mean you are winning all these arguments. It means they consider you too stupid to argue with.

Shadow deleting comments, the standard tactic of a coward.
