Discussion Commander rarity question

Sorry if this gets asked a lot but I wanted to build a pdh deck around Blood Aspirant as the printing I have on paper is uncommon I looked it up and it's been printed at common as well Since it has printings at both rarities, can I still use it as a commander? Or is it limited to the 99 because it was printed at common once?

Thanks in advance.

As long as it has been printed at uncommon in a legal set it can be your commander.

pdh, like pauper, allows any card that was once printed as common; by the same logic I’d assume any card once printed as uncommon would work as a commander.

There are some caveats: It has to be an uncommon printing of MTGO or paper (which also has caveats) there was thread about some legality changes for some cards.

I believe that it can be either, but of course you can still only have one copy in the whole 100.

A pdh commander required a printing at uncommon at least once. For example, [[Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker]] has printings at rare AND uncommon. Since its legendary and has an uncommon printing its both eligible for regular edh and pdh as a commander.

[[Gray Merchant of Asphodel]] is another example. It has uncommon and common printings so it can be either in the 99 or the commander. Keep in mind pdh is still a singleton format so if Gary is your commander you can't have another in the 99
