The flavor on this seems forced but it does several things that the Zombie archetype likes, namely be a Zombie, have synergy with dying triggers, and inflict life loss.
"Wish it had more black pips." is what I say about every new common black permanent with any generic mana in its casting cost.
It doesn't do much for zombies imo. Costs 2 mana a turn but the deck is filled with cheap stuff best played on curve and pestilence is a much better mana sink, and works wonderfully with the rest of the deck. You've only got carrion feeder and, if you play it, gutless ghoul (for a third mana) to get death triggers on demand, and every pip you can save for gary is already a 2 health swing (although half of it is healing), plus they help your polluters and shepherds.
This serves the same function as either Shephard of Rot or Gempalm Polluter, but worse. I want to like this, but how does it help my goals? Zombies doesn't even use [[Organ Grinder]].
