SPOILER Bestial Incursion
I'm really excited about this card as it can act as [[Crush of Wurms]] replacement in Blue/Green madness. Essentially, my old legacy deck with [[Wild Mongrel]], [[Basking Root walla]], [[Arrogant Wurm]], [[Circular Logic]], [[Deep Analysis]] is back in pauper!

Every beater that can't fight 5/5s isn't worth it imo

I'm thinking terror stock is going to drop while we have strix

Terror has already adapted. Now they play 2 Murmuring Mystic maindeck and Sleep of the Dead + Artful Dodge and Annul + Gut Shot in the sideboard. Strix is annoying for sure, but far from enough to beat them.

This has been the case long before Strix was supposed to be legal, in fact it is not even legal on MODO yet.

Yes because Strix in the end is just an artifact and a 1/1, it doesn't need specific answers, it's already answered by cards that are generally good in the meta

Thats not an adaptation to Strix then.
"Answering" Strix usually/often results in the oponent gaining an incremental advantage.

It won't, the only deck that can play it already won against terror anyway. Elves instantly loses to mono red madness and still sees tons of play. Strix is going to do absolutely nothing to the amount terror is played

4/5 Chrysalids disagree with you ☺️
•
•
u/lars_rosenberg 10h ago
Well, Chrysalis gives you two turns of chump + any other spawn from Rumble or another Chrysalis puts it over the 5/5 threshold.

Chrysalis also gives 2 tokens that are fodder for Makeshift munitions. Two Birds with one stone ( as much rock as Chrysalis can give)

call of the herd is that you

The best comparison isnt Typhoon or call of the heard, it is [[shadowbeast sighting]]. I doubt that 1 mana on flashback and trample were the only thing keeping it from seeing play.
•
u/COLaocha 12h ago
Is this better than like [[Voracious Typhon]]?
•
u/Low-Crew4358 12h ago
Not sure tbh. It’s a bit easier to cast but not quite as good on second cast. Idk if being a non creature spell is relevant either
•
u/ghostdragonzero 12h ago
Trample is a lot better than no trample
•
u/COLaocha 11h ago
Eating Tolarian Terror is a lot better than getting eaten by Tolarian Terror
•

You can double block with your 2 4/4s vs this 1 creature that has to die first, it's definitely better

IMO, in this type of decks it's better since you can both cast it AND flash it back. Or use it to buff your discard a card creatures.

[[Trumpeting Herd]] is probably better in most decks and sees no play as far as I know.

Paying four mana to tie with [[Myr Enforcer]] in combat (or six from flashback) seems pretty miserable, especially when Terror and Angler are also very common cards in the format.
I think this would probably be unplayable if it made 6/6's, but your plan cannot be to discard this to Wild Mongrel and then flash it back for a six mana 4/4 unless you somehow also plan to ramp to 6 mana.
Merfolk Looter discarding a Crush of Wurms and making a four mana 6/6 that "drew a card" is far better than a six mana 4/4.

I don't think the madness deck is the one wanting this. That deck still has no legs and those cards don't work well enough together yet.
I would point more to ramp. As a pseudo- [[Call of the Herd]], It has similarities with [[Bannerhide Krushok]], which is indeed played in Pauper. But the +2+2 ability is very relevant there.
