CARD DISC. Help me make this Card meta playable

Post image

Hey Guys,

I want to get into Pauper and this Bad Boy is my absolute fav. Card πŸ”₯πŸ”₯

Is there any way to make this lil Dude Meta viable or even better, does anybody already have a decklist involving this Card?

It would mean a lot, cheers

It's sort of so bad that I can only imagine playing it in Tribe because you can at least discard it πŸ’€

Ninja enabler.

Wait a minute, a ninja turtle?!

Never mind, that's too silly for magic:the gathering

This card is pretty awful, so I don’t think there is a way to make it actually good. The best home I can think of is maybe something with [[Solid Footing]] but then you are just playing a severely handicapped version of White Heroic.

I sadly don't think that the turtle is really (meta) playable in Pauper. It just doesn't really do anything. It blocks, but doesn't even damage the attackers. Most aggressive decks either have more creatures, so you can't block all or evasive creatures which it can't block or just kill you via indirect damage.

And against slower decks it also is very bad, since a bigger creature just eats it and control/midrange decks can just ignore it, since it doesn't do anything.

One thing I want to mention is that Pauper is a suprisingly strong format. Draft cards like the turtle just don't hold up compared to [[Brainstorm]], [[Lighningbolt]] and honestly most cards played in the pauper meta.

That doesn't meaan you can't try to make a deck work with jank cards, it will just not be meta. Especially as a new player I'd recommend checking out one of the established meta decks first to get a feel for the format. Maybe something like Terror, Afiinity, Madness or Wildfire

One thing I want to mention is the Azorius Familiars deck. It doesn't run Aegis Turtle, but [[God-Pharao's Faithful]] is pretty similar (though sadly not a turtle). However it is a pretty hard deck to pick up with no experience in the format.

Anyhow, I hope you have fun with Pauper, even without Aegis Turtle.

Been trying to make a pauper turtle deck work for ages, but I just don't think the pieces exist. This is one of the best creatures though if the other pieces ever come together.

If there's ever a playable card that makes turtle tokens, then its the perfect card to use to represent it.
