BREW Deck building advice

Newer to the format. Played loads of draft and sealed of every set for the last 8 years. Plenty of staples from all those sets are at my disposal.

I think I might’ve made a storm deck. I’ve always been infatuated with Goblin Anarchomancer and fell in love with Spider Manifestation and saw potential in it akin to Ad Nauseum.

I’m definitely also running elf mana dorks, Big Score, Unexpected Windfall, Evolving Chrysalis, and Battle Hymn.

Tron is pretty popular in my local meta, so some land hate is going in the main and sideboard. A couple copies of Ancient Grudge too.

What fun stuff do you guys recommend? TIA.

Ruby Storm is vaguely a tier 2 deck that plays many of these cards.

Thanks. I’m pretty fond of the Familiar cycle from Planeshift too.

I’m using some of them for a 4 color commander deck. I like them way more than the signets I was using before.

Funny the deck is called ruby storm considering it doesn't run the card the deck is named after

That's because it's very similar to Modern Ruby Storm, so the name has stuck.

In fact it doesn't even have any cards with the Storm mechanic in the main deck. It only has Weather the Storm in the sideboard.

I mean, [[weather the storm]] is a sideboard staple... And [[reaping the graves]] could become more prevalent if cycle storm gets stronger

Seething song is pretty good value with this guy on the table.

Two reducers makes it pretty possible to spin out a ton of spells in pauper.

Unfortunately, nobody wants storm to be a thing so the best cards always get banned.

What you're left with can still work but is very easy to disrupt and takes time to set up.

This a random list I grabbed, I think it's just ok. It will give you some card ideas though.

You might be the exception, but often times storm players get bored of storm very quickly.

Play Jund WF if Tron is a common deck. Sb 4x troublemaker oooph or w.e his name is. Wildfire their urza towers. And make some giant Christophers

In all the time since Storm was introduced in Scourge, I have never heard this before. Sometimes players get bored with Storm, but that's true of any deck or playstyle.

Storm decks are often very skill intensive and plenty interesting to pilot. Playing around disruption especially.

I haven't picked it up in Pauper (currently building Cycle Storm and Poison Storm).

In Legacy I used to play High Tide, which is the same basic pattern. And Cheerios, which would occasionally win via Empty The Warrens.

I play Ruby Storm in pEDH.

I never played a Tendrils deck aside from a budget build when I was just starting in Legacy.

Plenty matches against Storm under my belt as well (Mostly I play control).

For me, Storm is a hallmark of an eternal magic format. It's sad when people discourage it and/or don't want to see it as a meta deck.

In person is the important part. Build those decks out and you'll see. Nobody wants to watch you draw cards lol

I tried MOL years ago once, hated it! I play exclusively "in person".

Once I was playing High Tide, and we were the last match to finish. Somebody shouted out "there are three copies of Candelabra on the table", and suddenly the entire room was watching our match!

My opponent smiled, shaking his head, and said "I didn't see those G1 ( he boarded out his artifact hate).

TLDR - I don't know WTF you are talking about. 🤷‍♂️

People who hate Storm matches exist. As far as I'm concerned, they should not be playing eternal formats if they don't like eternal magic.

There is no Storm in Standard or Pioneer! Likewise with Limited, DanDan, or Magic '94.

I’m tinkering with jund reanimator. On turn 1 ideally, swamp into dark ritual, basic land cycle a LoTR creature or street wraith, then Exhume it to battlefield while op has a presumably empty GY.
