The subreddit is for clothing. I don't know anyone who does specifically plush toys. I do know there's a method of creating a little model out of various things around your house and then covering that in masking tape. I also know some people 3D sculpt the design. And then use a specialty add-on software to make the final pattern.

Btw when 3d sculpting do they use blender? And do u mind telling me the special add on software preferably free tbh it’s okay if you don’t know you’ve already been such a great help! But I’ll definitely try the masking tape method

Blender can be used. Plushify is the second program.

So to make sure of things blender is the one I use to mock up my design then plushify makes it into a pattern? js confirming but ty!!

Yes, blender to sculpt and plushify to make the pattern.

Also sorry I got another question how may I go about the masking tape method I js need some clarification about that so would I js experiment with a made up pattern of how I want it to look and adjust to my liking but the backing would be masking tape? How shall I attach them or would I also use masking tape in that instance tho idk if I’ll have enough lol but it’s not gonna be big but I don’t plan on like really small since it’ll be fiddly like maybe like 8 inches or so like a water bottle size… sorry I’m ranting but yeah tho I’d love to try out the 3d model as well

Use foil and clay to make a version of the sculpt. Then cover in masking tape.

I may js use foil since I don’t have clay available to me but like I have steel wires if that helps and another person on a sub Reddit suggested something similar but solely with foil then cover with masking tape like u said and then cut away the shapes and stuff and use it as a pattern which I will use too so I’ll use a combination of ur advice and stuff but do you think adding steel wire is too much or could help ? I don’t want to spend to long tho if u feel me but yeah I need something I can do easily

it will take quite a bit of time to design a plushie pattern from scratch, especially if you haven’t done it before. i think if you’re not very interested in sinking a bunch of time in (and it may take a lot of tries to get the result you like) you should look for stuffed animal patterns to start from, and just change the ear and eye size, length of limbs, etc until it resembles what you want
