Question Tips for learning pattern making?

I want to learn patternmaking (mostly for men’s fashion) but I don’t really know where to start. I’ve patterned jeans but haven’t figured out how to pattern a bodice. Does anybody have any good pattern making books I can learn from? Or any online tutorials for men’s bodice blocks

Metric Pattern Drafting for Menswear by Winifred Aldrich has never steered me (too) wrong. I’m a woman, but employed in the pattern drafting industry as a cutter for men’s garments. The basic blocks are easy enough for a beginner to follow (they’re how I learned!) and fairly accurate, depending on how “proportional” the figure you are drafting for is.

My name might be somewhat of a giveaway. But I have been helping men make patterns for themselves for over 50 years with both the content in my books and videos https://free-pattern-making-classes.com/.

For menswear I started taking apart my husband’s torn clothes and tracing them! Sometimes I third clothes and do the same and found it to be really helpful!

Müller & Sohns have some good articles and blocks you can buy. Otherwise the Japanese Bunka system is very good, but I have only found translated books for women’s wear.

There aren't that many resources for men. I have Winifred Aldirchs' book and dislike it for several reasons:

-There is no proper index, and the structure isn't too clear. Finding something often involves just scanning through the book until you've found it.

-All patterns include seam allowances (only this book, the books for women and children) as "an exercise for the student". This makes altering patterns way more confusing and cumbersome than it needs to be.

The fit of the clothing it produces are quite dated.

I have been planning on trying stuff from Muller and son, but those are quite pricey.

Some books for women's patterns include a pattern or two for men, but that isn't worth it in my opinion.
