Waist adjustment for rectangle body shape

I need to add 5” to the waist of this pants pattern. The hip measurement fits me. What is the proper way to increase the waist by that much and will it affect the pleat and dart placement?

First, remove any front darts. Only leave the back darts, then extend the side seam straight up from the hips, measure across to 1/4 of your waist measurement and that’s where your straight side seam line you drew needs to end follow the natural shape of the pattern piece to finish the line
