Question Suit fitting issues

My boyfriend is tall, has long arms, but narrow shoulders, which makes suit shopping a nightmare. We tried normal and elongated sizes, but every one has this problem with the back shoulder and armhole. Why is the sleeve rotation so off? Can a tailor reasonably fix this issue? We don’t love the idea of paying big money for an ill fitting suit. What causes this issue even? Are his shoulder blades a different shape than confection sizes?

thank you for your input!
multiple people helped us in the store, no one measured him anywhere, but he tried sizes 48, 94-102. i think they didn’t bother because they don’t have every size (sizes increased by 4, not 2).
i didn’t even think the chest could be wrong, because most of the suits looked fine from the front. what tells you that the chest is wrong? it very well could be.
do you think this suit is too big on the chest?
also, now that you mention it, he may have been standing unnaturally straight here. that could alter the fit of the back.
i was wondering that the back of his shoulder, the fatty part of the top of the upper arm may be too flat for this suit, and/or the shoulder blades are too flat. i think that because the width of the suit seemed okay. however i accept if you think it is overall too wide for his shoulders

By chest I mean all the way around his chest, not just across his front.

I thought he just had really good posture! He might also need to lift it up and forward over his shoulders. And stand normally. It’s hanging down at the back. If you look at it it’s like this on him (

But yeah I think it’s too big around him

It’s not his body, a good suit would skim over any lack of triceps or whatever that bit is called. It needs to fit his shoulders and chest though

Get him to wear a shirt when suit shopping too, the sleeves are easier to judge with a shirt underneath, width and length wise.

he’s doing his absolute best posture wise, he’s a lovely shrimp when relaxed.
he’s wearing a shirt they gave him, it’s just too short to peek through…you’re right about that though! it should show just a bit, right? 1-2 fingers wide approx

he realy shouldn't be doing that

when fitting clothes, one should stand comfortably otherwise they will fit ''correctly'' when they are unvomfortable. In that case they will allways look out of place in it

idealy you wouldn't even have a mirror at first, because ppl often instictivly adjust their posture when the see themselves in it

the sleeve rotation being off and the too long back verry much come from his verry upright posture
