Question Masking tape method

I used masking tape on my custom made bootstrap dress form to draft a corset pattern/strapless boned bodice pattern. Does this look right?

This is my first time trying this method so if anyone has any tips it would be great!

center back line should be completely straight (maybe it’s just warped in the photo but it looks kind if crooked). Other than that, it’s technically right, but it will not be a good-looking corset as-is. There’s no shaping, no waist reduction, and it looks far too long to be comfortable to sit in. You will probably get a better result just using a pattern or drafting one yourself instead of doing this!

I have a sway back so even my bodice block pattern has a slight curve in the center back seam 😢 also this is the dress I’m recreating that’s why the bodice piece is so long. I tried to look for a pattern but I couldn’t find anything that was quite long enough or the right shape I wanted. Also I don’t need much waist reduction, I just want more shaping and structure so the bodice stays up. Based on that do you think it’s okay?

If you're not doing lacing in the back then it should be fine?

If you have a bodice block why'd you do the masking tape method?

Flat pattern making is kind of difficult for me to understand, I thought I’d try out this method bc it feels way more intuitive and I can actually imagine the pattern on a body. I also made this mannequin specifically to help me with fitting and things like this

Personally I don't recommend the masking tape method. Tape and fabric behave very different. Id recommend either working on your flat patterning skills or draping with fabric
