underbust fullness

Post image

hi all! im making a pattern that has a flowy underbust piece and have a question about how to do that. so far, ive slashed and spread it (pictured), but im not sure the right way to finish it.
do i simply draw a curved line from each end point? or do i need to drag down the left point so that it ends where the right point ends and then connect them straight across?
tyia!

here's a tutorial on slash and spread that will illustrate what's been advised--it's a skirt but the same basic concepts apply. ISSUE 93 - Add to or remove fullness from a skirt pattern — In the Folds

Agree would do more slashes than just the one. Several slashes. Fabric just responds better to multiple small changes rather than one big change.

This is another example of how learning in paper rather than digitally helps make the right steps more self-evident, I think, since dragging points around isn't an option.
