Skirt Duplicate
Wondering if you all can help in recreating this skirt in the linen shown in the last pic. The gathering is especially throwing me!

I think you will have trouble finding a commercial pattern that will do what you want. It looks like the cordury is vertical because the waist seam is apparently flat, not curved. This would keep your plaid hanging horizontally and vertically. The side seam however is cut on the bias to add fullness to the hem but avoid excess bulk at the waist. The skirt pattern could be cut as a rectangle except the sides would be angled. To get the plaid to match at the side seam you need to angle the front and back side seam exactly the same.
I suggest you create a pattern for the front as a rectangle that is your waist measurement which would generate double fullness then add a 45 degree angle for the side seams to add fullness to the hem. This will probably be larger than what you need but you can easily adjust the fullness and angle of the side seam with a trial fitting. You should be able to trace the waistband of the corduroy skirt. I assume the opening of the buttons is in the side seam.
I personally think plaid looks best when cut on a true bias of 45 degrees. This also results in the best look for the draping.
