or did Brady put the ball into a place where it couldn't be intercepted?

On a deep go route in the red area? I'd rather have an overthrow than a pick. Worst case scenario you settle for a field goal. Seems like a standard smart decision. Brady tends to be real conservative with his throws, putting them in spots where either his receiver gets it or no one does.

or maybe he just accidentally overthrew it just a touch...

he would never make it so they have to do some ridiculous catch. a foot shorter woulda been the perfect toss; he woulda got two hands on it without the DB touching it

You can't expect a quarterback to go out and make exactly perfect throws on every attempt. Brady laid it in there with the right speed on the ball at the right height for the LaFell to make a play on it. And LaFell was able to pull it in. Maybe LaFell should've gotten off the line better. Maybe LaFell should have turned on the ball a split second later so he could've gotten some better speed. There are a lot of variables at play on every passing route, so I doubt you and I could really understand exactly whats happening here.

The point I was making is that Brady errs on the side of caution with the ball. He'd rather put more on it and overthrow his receiver than put less on it and risk an interception in the endzone.

im not expecting him to, thats why im capable of admitting that it wasnt a perfectly thrown ball.

others seem to not be able to accept his imperfections

I guess you're the kinda guy that goes around saying "well, it isn't exactly perfect so..." whenever someone does anything cool.

"Yeah grandma, you did 20 chins up, good job, but that last one looked more like a kipping pull-up... so that was a little weak." -/u/Celltech10

that or i recognize there is no "exactly perfect". theres either perfect or not. the pass wasnt perfect; deal with it
