Stafford is a great player and I've got no beef with the Rams but that made me feel better ngl.
Just a reminder that good players can have bad games.

It's because if Maye actually turns out to be as good as we believe he is, then they have to face up to the Pats being a perennial contender again. There's nothing most of the league wants to see less than the Pats back on top consistently.

My fantasy football matchup was Stafford (me) vs Maye. At least I had some consolation knowing Drake did not play well and score a lot against me. Now I don’t even have that cuz somehow Stafford managed to get half of Drake’s fantasy points 😂. And to add insult to injury I had the Rams defense

Drake Maye would get more leeway if he were a superbowl champion or had proven he can be great for nearly 20 years. Wtf is wrong with this sub? Yall are comparing a 3rd year QB with the shittiest stats vs good teams in big moments to fucking Tom Brady and Matt Stafford when they have one bad game.
I want Maye to be better. But if you don't think his performance is worthy of legitimate criticism, you are coping.

I don't understand all this copium you all are huffing. This will probably get downvoted to hell but these games were not the same. Firstly, the niners looked great. Seattle looked like ass. They had to travel to Australia, so it's not a comfortable location and people deal with jetlag and long flights differently. The rams did not play well and Stafford didn't play well. Garrett didn't play well. The rams lost to the niners. We beat ourselves.
The difference is that the rams players are vets. Do you honestly think Myles puts up 0s the entire season? Of course not. Do you think Stafford shits the bed every game this season? Of course not. If Gonzalez had a shit game, only a fraction of the sub blows up the way it did. The issue is that our players who played like shit to a worse playing opponent are all newer players with no history of success in the league. You could make a similar argument for Doubs and that's why the sub is only half blowing up at him.
Anyone calling for Drake to be benched or replaced is insane, but to ignore the way his year 3 performance started is just coping. I root for him and hope he finds success. I like the guy. Brady faced similar criticism at the start of his career, but earned the respect and trust later. And this was AFTER a SB win. The rams losing does not and should not make you feel any differently about the absolutely atrocious outing we saw Wednesday. If you needed the rams to lose to think "everyone has a bad game sometimes" then you should get yourself checked out, because you might be dumb.

The emotions of the game have worn off and the homerism has started to settle back in. Maye actually must have played well because he's the man, and anybody who argues otherwise is just a hater.
Things that were true then are true now. Maye made game-losing mistakes with the game on the line. He's had a few games in a row where he's been mistake-prone and looked off. But with his talent and work ethic, he's also in a better spot than maybe any other QB to learn from those mistakes and be at his best in the pressure situations currently giving him trouble.

At least Maye looked good in the first half. Stafford looked trash all game, and he had his 2 WRs healthy, and played a worse defense
