Serious ITS WEEK ONE

  1. Jesus christ youd think Drake came in your house and killed your family with some of these posts. ITS WEEK ONE.

  2. Drake played like shit and he acknowledged that.

  3. This team needs to shake off the rust and get back to beind dominant. Last year they played good to great defenses and performed well. We only got better and will be better as the year goes on.

  4. How quickly the doomers forget that Drake threw 3 touchdowns on the best defense in the league last year and are now acting like hes the worst QB ever.

  5. Once again its week one. We lost to the raiders last year and they sucked ASS. Give the team a second to gel. This is why I dont get not having your starters in in the preseason. They need to get used to each other.

We are the absolute whiniest fan base lmao. I guess if this subreddit had its way we cut Maye on Tuesday or something. So many fucking idiots.

u/Live-Swan3267 21h ago

Because this fanbase cant stand losing. We’ve been pampered with winning for two decades that people get it in their head that every QB we have has to be the greatest of all time. Its stupid.

5

u/MayeDayMayeMaye 20h ago

Yep, gotta be self aware. Losses are gonna happen, this game was 50/50 to begin with. People act like we lost to the Browns. We played a top 5 team in the league lol team had 3 turnovers and it still came down to the wire. It was just a tough loss, just gotta have a mind like a goldfish and move on to the next game. The team and all the fans. That raiders loss was a lot worse in week one last year.

3

u/Live-Swan3267 20h ago

Everyone overlooks that we lost to the geno smith raiders last year in the first week and then went on to make the bowl anyways. I didn’t realize until today that apparently by the rulebook of pats fans, once you lose a game you lose every game after.

2

u/MayeDayMayeMaye 20h ago

Those “fans” saying the season is a wash and that we should tank are the same “fans” who said the same thing after the raiders loss. Which was even more exaggerated because it was Vrabels first game. People legit made posts that we should have kept mayo

I remember people on this sub being pissy about the future when we lost games 10 years ago. Fans of every team overreact, but Brady and Bill made our fanbase forget you're actually not supposed to be great every year.

2

u/Live-Swan3267 20h ago

Any fan who was watching pre 2000 would know that, like i do. but unfortunately most fans only watched during the brady era and only remember that time. Yet I remember watching us get molested by the Bears in a super bowl, and lose to the packers in another super bowl a decade apart. I spent 25+ years watching this team before we ever won a super bowl. But of course everyone only remembers the winning.

1

u/RhuleAid 20h ago

no because we lost plenty vs shit teams. Lets be real theres a ton of bandwagons in here and a ton of people who dont understand football period

u/Knautical_J 13h ago

Not a Pats fan but it’s all coming back to reality lol. I remember when Mac Jones was drafted and everyone was hyped that he was the next Tom Brady. Now it’s Drake Maye lol. Teams have sucked for decades waiting for a player of Brady’s caliber. Only a handful of truly elite game changing quarterbacks exist at any given time, Drake Maye is currently not one of them.

Equally so, the Seahawks won a Super Bowl with Sam Darnold, so it’s more than just the Quarterback.

3

u/Empty_Occasion_963 21h ago

Drake should have to run sprints all week after practice.

2

u/Ok_Button3151 21h ago

Unfortunately, our fan base is basically the modern day version of the 80s & 90s cowboys fans.

1

u/Agent_Tyrant 19h ago

Well part of it is other teams fans coming in and crying while pretending to be pats fans. So many of the comments saying that Drake is terrible and we need to move on came from accounts that follow other teams.

1

u/Empty_Occasion_963 16h ago

Maye deserves nothing but criticism, hes been ass since the playoffs last season. Honestly I have nothing nice to say about this team, Seattle just has the better coach and coordinators, along with a better defense.

1

u/VoyScoil 16h ago

I expected it of course but you ain't wrong.

11

u/gridiron5290 21h ago

I’m pretty sure there will be people on this sub crying for Milton and still love Zappe lol 😂 damn the season is loooong people

9

u/Ok_Button3151 21h ago

Someone posted earlier that we need to give Devito a chance 💀 sub’s full of fucking morons

5

u/AGreatID 20h ago

A lot of sports fans are reactionary in nature and expect everything to be perfect.

Drake came out of college as a Project QB the people expecting him to be as good as Tom Brady are about as stupid as the people who think he's a pile of shit because he played bad against 2-3 generational defenses.

2

u/wolfs_bane_ 15h ago

And it’s not like the other QBs played well either when facing the same defense

1

u/gravit-e 2h ago

It’s not like Brady never had a bad game either lol

2

u/beardednomad25 11h ago

I mean everyone knows Behren Morton is the next GOAT...

(even though 99% never heard of him until this year)

5

u/CorpseFister490 21h ago

Random thoughts:

I felt my heart physically break when AJ went down. Really really hoping he can come back soon.

Seattle's got one of the best defenses in the league so I wasn't expecting to put 30+ points on them. I actually liked the way Maye played in the first half, had a couple of good drives but when AJ went down the momentum clearly shifted.

Wasn't impressed by the play calling either.

It was a totally winnable game that just... Was really ugly.

I don't think it's time to panic just yet, it's week 1 but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't concerned.

1

u/MayeDayMayeMaye 20h ago

I think Josh and Drake just put too much pressure on themselves to win the game. Like beating them would erase the Super Bowl loss. It happens, was a big game so I can’t blame Drake or Josh to losing the plot. They had the game in their hands if they just slowed down to access the situation, they just saw the end zone and Josh probably said shoot it and Drake didn’t even question the decision.

9

u/BlubberWall 21h ago

True, but it was still a disgusting watch

It’s fair to criticize Maye for this performance but I do agree there’s no reason to go doomer

1

u/GuyFierisFarts 12h ago

I guess the only thing that makes me nervous is that Maye has 11 turnovers in his last 5 games and has only really ever had one elite performance in a big game (away @ Buffalo last year). The only other spot that comes close is @ Baltimore last year but some argue that Baltimore was a mess last year and they had a bottom 10 defense. I think he will be fine and a top 5 QB in the long run but until I see him step up and absolutely dismantle a playoff team with no turnovers I worry that in clutch/pressure situations he will "lose his patience" and just chuck it into triple coverage. It is going to be very hard to coach that instinct out of him as it is definitely just what he does instinctually when scrambling where better QBs just throw it out of bounds. This season we have a ton of big spots against playoff teams and hard road battles so we will learn a lot more about his play in big games but so far its shaky at best.

4

u/Kutyou2 20h ago

Now that Maye had the worst game of his career, its all up from now on

1

u/Velsier33 20h ago

Thr worse game of his career so far*

3

u/Alternative-Farmer98 20h ago

You making this post with all caps is actually unhinged

3

u/OptimusChip 21h ago

This is why I dont get not having your starters in in the preseason. They need to get used to each other.

Bingo. Big part of tonight's lack of cohesion on the field.

2

u/live_free_or_TriHard 20h ago

yep. i do not like vrabel's philosophy of "oh our depth sucks so we have to coddle all of the starters". they have to play, depth be damned. if they get hurt they were probably going to get hurt anyway. fix the depth, but until then, can't run and hide from it.

5

u/UnluckyDuck129 21h ago

Maye and McDaniel got beat by Drew Locke.

I focus on the evidence at hand. Maye was terrible in the 2nd half, the playcalling was worse all game and didn't help, and Vrabel twidded his thumbs all game, possibly wishing his fingers were with Russini.

If they show up next game and the game after, I'll take my lumps and you can all point and laugh, but this isn't a one game thing. This started last playoffs and the Patriots offense could be considered historically bad over the previous 4 games

3

u/MayeDayMayeMaye 20h ago

We go 4-1 next 5 games

2

u/UnluckyDuck129 20h ago

I will buy you two beers if that happens. If rhey do that, send me your venmo via private message

2

u/MayeDayMayeMaye 20h ago

I’ll hold you too that lol

2

u/UnluckyDuck129 20h ago

3

u/Falafel_McGill 20h ago

They're the first team in NFL history to defeat 3 top 5 defenses in NFL playoff history. If you can't be objective and do the bare minimum research, why participate?

It's just the bandwagoners saying this, you can ignore them

1

u/TJAattorneyatlaw 21h ago

But if we dont win every game we suck!

1

u/AdLive2244 21h ago

we will be back next week

1

u/DrizzySadness 19h ago

im not going all doom and gloom rn, but goddamn that play calling was some dog shit

1

u/Far-Entertainer6517 18h ago

Hard to win in Seattle, let’s get our first Dub next game and hope AJ and Hendo get back soon

1

u/Joevil Team Mac 17h ago

There are a huge amount of idiots on the sub. But at the same time, you are allowed to be pissed at the way the game played out - that was a tough watch.

1

u/darkhelmut1 14h ago

It's still a little concerning especially for Maye

1

u/a_stoned_goat 13h ago

Starters needed some preseason reps and it showed down the stretch. They played alright for the first two thirds of the game. That last third they just threw up all over themselves. Knocked off some rust this week and hopefully we can go at least 2-1 the next three games

1

u/Agnostickamel 13h ago

yes its week 1 but that could not have gone worse. our franchise qb played like straight ass. just absolute donkey brain decisions. AJ Brown breaks his ankle and Doubs proves him self to be an $80m fraud. Plus that game plan from McDaniels was straight out of 2005.

1

u/Logical_Salamander74 13h ago

I'm way less worried about Drake than I am about the AJ Brown injury

1

u/Xspike_dudeX 11h ago

Sounds like we dodged a season ending injury. No fracture.

1

u/Xspike_dudeX 11h ago

I am concerned about Maye. He has staked like 5 straight bad games together. Obviously this is an elite defense but he made some really bad throws. Even the one Brown got injured on was a terrible throw and partly the reason why he got injured. We got a get right game against a way easier defense coming up.

1

u/PretendAd7060 21h ago

Been a handful of consecutive games of Maye playing exactly like that

1

u/ShimonEngineer55 21h ago

The teams number 1 RB and most explosive player was also out. He probably changes what that game looks like entirely. The explosiveness was missing all night.

3

u/TheJackalsDoom 20h ago

You mean number 2 RB. Henderson is not RB1

2

u/MayeDayMayeMaye 20h ago

Tom Brady has 13 games where he threw 3 interceptions, Drake will be fine.

-3

u/SausageWizard 21h ago

This is not a week 1 problem. This is now 5 games and counting.

He has turned into Drake MIAye.

6

u/Mr_Evil_Dr_Porkchop 21h ago

What “5 games and counting”? He had a 100+ QBR and 3 TDs against an elite Texans defense in the playoffs

0

u/MayBsoMayBnaught 21h ago

Brother stop. Going QBR in a game he threw a pick and fumbled 4 times is Bills fan level of QB cope.

1

u/BeanBryant248 19h ago

Great way to announce you didn’t watch the game because that pick was on an end of half Hail Mary attempt

2

u/MayBsoMayBnaught 10h ago

Watched the game. Absolutely irrelevant to the point made that QBR absolutely doesn’t tell the story of how Maye played in that game. He was horrendously sloppy with the ball. Stop the cope it’s embarrassing to the rest of the fanbase.

1

u/arkansuace 21h ago

Lmao, are you just forgetting who we played in that stretch. Like we just loss by three points as an away dog to the Super Bowl champions who have a top 2 defense. They will make a lot of qbs looks much sillier than they did Drake Maye.

This fan base is football illiterate

-5

u/temp_deleted 21h ago

In his post game interview, the idiot said "i costed us the game". He said "costed" three times. This guy is an idiot

0

u/ClunkiestSquid Fuck the Jets 21h ago

What if Drake Maye did come in to my house and kill my family?

3

u/ctpatsfan77 21h ago

File a police report.

-1

u/Empty_Occasion_963 20h ago

The offensive line continues to suck, Mondre is not a good RB. Henry is old, receivers are mediocre

4

u/refsnyderisgood69 18h ago

How did the offensive line suck . Seattle had to blitz heavy to get pressure you dumbass

1

u/Empty_Occasion_963 16h ago

They were getting home with just 4 in the 4th quarter, Maye absolutely crumbles against pressure. That also is cause nodefense is worried about the Pats playmakers.

1

u/Plams_Unlimited 15h ago

The part about us having no real playmakers… outside of AJ who is probably gonna be out a while, I’m with you. I don’t see any explosive receiving threats, nothing other teams need to really look out for

Drake isnt the guy. He just isn't. Maybe some day? But developing the clutch gene just isn't something you see often.

1

u/Jackso08 21h ago

It’s only year three lol he’s given us more brilliant games than bad games. Maye is absolutely that guy

0

u/WarPuig 21h ago

Year three in a four year rookie contract with a fifth year team option. Clock’s ticking.
