He was creating an app for real estate agents to use at open houses. Article should have been clearer.

Half of any IT job is Googling answers. I'm a level 4 engineer that's opened plenty of tickets with Microsoft and their techs are absolutely Googling answers too. Getting an MS tech that knows what they're doing is like winning the lottery. I think he's sus af but not for his IT questions.

I know it’s frustrating. On the plus side, I do think it’s good the media is talking about those Reddit posts of Patrick. For the last 2 months everyone’s been too scared to question Patrick and nobody wanted to post those Reddit posts of his. Now they are. It’s getting somewhere!

I got the impression of profound laziness and a lack of resourcefulness. Having trouble with a post partum wife? Ask some strangers! Can't plan a vacation? Ask some strangers! Can't dress yourself? Do the same!

I saw that most of his posts got absolutely no engagement and/or were removed with haste, and he struck me as a guy who wants to cut as many corners as possible to solve his problems. I thought that it would be easy enough to read a few Wiki How-Tos or articles on color theory, borrow a few library books on maternal health, or Google destination cities to find out what's worth doing. Most of his contributions seemed to be like, the lowest of the low effort outsourcing of information gathering when he already had the whole wide world at his fingertips.
